Re: Who wants cwu??? Not me get out
Excelent points Limey...
The delivery postmen and postwomen were well and truly shafted by the agreement.
I dont agree a lot of people were resentful of those did a lot of d2d and therefore got paid more. Some did not want to do D2D regardless of our much they got paid - some even contracted out their d2ds to those that want it.
Now, we still have a discrepancy in the amount of d2d done - some walks are large and others are just ripe for the new typr pizza and takeways d2d. So what you get some people continue to do a lot more than others and not being paid for their efforts - that is not right.

You'll only fecking moan about them after the 1st agreement is signed.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

@ clashcityrocker,
"Yes you lost money, and so did a lot of people but some posties must have made out of it."
Correct, Non delivry staff at delivery offices did well, R.M is doing very very well out of it.
Delivery staff, however, are not.
"Was it fair that postie A was taking home £50/week more than postie B when they were both working the same hours?"
Working the same hours or being paid for the the same hours, Not the same thing. The postie who loads a 600 walk frame with d2d and then delivers them, gets the pay for them, thats the principle of "working". For (example) Me to load and deliver the d2d and you get paid for my work or in this case r.m. gets paid for my work, is not how the concept of how "work" works, is it?
If your "postie B" wants the pay, maybe he/she should do the work.
"With the increase in D2D, that wage discrepancy was only going to increase, so imho the delivery supplement is fairer. You don't get more money if you have more packets or Specials."
I do, because more packets and specials mean more time delivering and therefore more overtime, just like my d2d now contribute to overtime.
"D2D is now counted in measured workload."
This may have been agreed but ity sure as hell aint happening, Obviously you either have not been paying attention or you have never been on deliveries.
This was a CWU goal for ages. Although you and me may be worse off financially, moving D2D into workload is better for everyone."
I doubt that YOU are worse off finacially and moving d2d into deliveries is better for a) r.m profits and b) those who never had anything to do with them anyway.
Delivery workers got screwed over and you know it.

Blimey do you have any more pointless sweeping statements or boxes to put people into. If you had said the same thing about a religion or ethnic group your statement would be racist, but I guess because its about a Trade Union thats ok.Bluebird wrote:X

Well I am afraid I take people at face value, and I certainly don't think all reps are saints or that they are corrupt, some may well be, but to condem all reps because you had problems or because (like me) you feel let down by the top table, is at bit to much like the Daily Mail for me.

Is she singing - "total eclipse of the heart?"
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

was one of the first postmen back the other day at gone 3 o clock thanks geo-routes, only to catch our union rep giving our office manager a back massage! hard to tell the difference between the two at the best of times. Fair play to royal mail at least they shaft you from the front, c w u much prefers to shaft you from behind. Time for a new union c w u hated and loathed in my office they sold delivery down the river with the help of the indoor mail centres turncoat scumbags...

Easy one ,if your rep is that bad get rid of him and vote in a better one . You could try the same with your DOM ,but it don't work like thatmilitant rowney wrote:was one of the first postmen back the other day at gone 3 o clock thanks geo-routes, only to catch our union rep giving our office manager a back massage! hard to tell the difference between the two at the best of times. About 10 years ago we had a 100% "vote of no confidence" in a line manager...that worked.BELIAL wrote: Easy one ,if your rep is that bad get rid of him and vote in a better one . You could try the same with your DOM ,but it don't work like that

Re: Who wants cwu??? Not me get out
How do you go about arranging a no confidence vote in management ? Is there a set procedure ? What are the guidelines and timetable ? I'm sure there would be massive uptake of this procedure if folks were aware of itfishtank wrote:About 10 years ago we had a 100% "vote of no confidence" in a line manager...that worked.BELIAL wrote: Easy one ,if your rep is that bad get rid of him and vote in a better one .
