Re: i quit!
but the cwu fought tooth and nail for 4 months for this agreement !
They called everyone out on strike which triggered an "agreement" the managers was advised to enfuriate and push staff into striking as RM directors wanted the "agreement talks to take place"
Ofcourse the cwu halted strikes before xmas and there was no real distruption as it was timed at a the "quietest" time of year
what u got was a pay cut and worsened work conditions especially aimed at part time staff!
The cwu was in on it the whole time.
The cwu is RM's "change" MUPPIT
and 25323 people paying 3£ a week fall for it
how the cwu thinks they have any support now its beyond me
and now we have hard working staff like morely at breaking point because of these conditions
its falling right into the RM's hands and what are the CWU doing about it
nothing they knew the take over was on the way and they sold ur asses OUT
that was the last agreement they will ever make

No he's quiting because he' being forced to do overtime that he doesn't want, and your advocating (in another thread that you started)that we should be contractually requiered to do so!

if he was contractually obliged to do so then he probably wouldnt hate the job as much .. not as much as confronting his boss who repells with disgust and stress .Yes we feel unjust about this bcos its our choice not 2 work over ... at the moment it frustrates us that we are more or less forced to do overtime unless u have a stressfull argument.
And he would also be signing the contract on commencement of employment knowing he had 2 do it the same as everyone else and probably would.. with a smile . instead of the surprise 3 months into the job that u have to go thru stress being forced to work overtime in some cases for nothing.
i wonder what he would prefer

Re: i quit!
Spoodoo, you prep them up in Royal Mail time. You therefore have less time out on the walk, so yo bring back what you were unable to deliver, and the onus is then on your manager. Need to check the D2D agreement to see what the maximum if any is at this present time. But really it,s irrelevant, as more D2Ds means more indoor work and less outdoor if you stick to your contracted hours.

Is there not?Lincox wrote:Spoodoo there is no agreement to do 7 d2ds in a week.
What date exactly is thereafter?D2D sales are expected to ramp up as follows: 4 items from 7 June, 5 items from 12th July (to be confirmed) 6 items from 3rd January 2011 and thereafter greater volumes as delivery methods roll out continues and D2D automation comes on stream.
The 4th January?
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Re: i quit!
Not everyone can take the constant harrassment from Managers, when they do that.
It's not worth risking your health, if you can get another job to go to.

Re: i quit!
That's when offices have to stick together. Unfortunately many offices didn't even bother going on strike, so they're hardly going to start sticking to their guns now.andy2007 wrote:Not everyone can take the constant harrassment from Managers, when they do that. It's not worth risking your health, if you can get another job to go to.
Personally i'm quite looking forward to our revision, the walks are fine but there's no way on earth the indoor work will get done. I'll be working 7hrs 48 every day and going home on time. Too many people allow themselves to be bullied by managers, as long as your prep and delivery rate is ok then there's nothing they can do when you tell them you're not working over.
I'm not walking away from RM with nothing, i've given all my working life thus far to them and will only go when (if) I get VR.

Re: i quit!
FFS all of you doom and gloomers, Managers get paid to manage let them earn their money,( must be around £28 - £30K for linos now) . They have had it easy for years and now the job is harder they are found to be lacking in every area of management skills. Dont argue or lose your temper, stand your ground and you will be fine, you will have to work your hours and stay squeaky clean for a while till it registers in their brains that you are doing the job properly. The bully boy managers are pathetic, remember, THEY are the ones under pressure to clear from the bigger bullies above them.

Re: i quit!
It makes me laugh, the first time i told the lino i was cutting off i got put on a different walk.
Of course, i got the bullying first, like 'everyone else can finish your duty in the time', but i stuck to my guns, i told them, 'the others can complete the duty 'cus they come in 45 mins early and work through their break. Some even take D2D home to prep!.
But i can only agree with everyone here, the job has slid to an all time low and i don't blame anyone for getting out ASAP.
