Good idea. Build a PO next to a railway station

Post by thebandit »

Well that's how they used to do it. Made a lot of sense, too. Then they just filled up the roads with trucks and built out-of-town mail centres and RDC's. We had an electric tractor called a Greenbat in the 1960's with tiller steering which, like all the station tractors, were lethal on the wet platforms. Another one at the time was powered by a Morris Minor engine with four gears which you sat in prone just like a F1 race car driver. We had several posties crash off platform 1 at Derby due to wet and greasy platforms. Although being pissed as well didn't help matters.
