Re: Higher than expected volumes
It's Warrington MC, and they aren't storing the Mail in them. They're SORTING outside, in them (run out of room inside!). Aparently (I was told about this by a friend who works there), they've been using them for weeks. But aparently, Management think it's ok, because they have Patio Heaters in them. This is despite the extreme weather we saw before Christmas!wacko74 wrote:Apparently a certain MC (dont know which one) has had to hire 2 wedding marquees to store all the undelivered mail in!

Failing on IPS every day at the moment. We already have mail backed up to the back doors for monday. Tracked items not getting delivered. Over-sized packets backed up by the york. Cut-offs galore. I've never known it this bad in all my years doing the job. Management asking for volunteers to sort sunday and deliver parcels. They've had one person offer so far

Heard they are drafting in loads of managers from all over Scotland to try and sort out the backlog in Dunfermline this Sunday, dunno if it's delivery and sorting or just sorting, something like 197,000 items sitting there.
