Bear with me here but I've done a few sums regarding the 56mph thing.
To cover the following mileages at the following speeds takes the following time in minutes:
At 56/60/70mph: 30 miles = 32/30/26 minutes respectively
50 miles = 53/50/43
100 miles = 107/100/86
150 miles = 161/150/128
200 miles = 214/200/171
And so on. Even a 200 mile journey the difference in time between 56mph and 70mph is only 43 minutes. A vehicle would have to travel just short of 300 miles for the difference to be an hour.
How many journeys in RMs network are around the 300 mile mark i.e. at least 1 hour different?

A manager told me today that they agree with us and don't see any reason for the change except to save money.
A manager telling the truth has the world stopped spinning.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
