Yeah they do seem to be getting RM ready for privatisation. If you wanted to this is what you would do.

Get rid of the pension fund - They are starting to do that but saying won't be open to new starters and saying the deficit is to big for them.

Cut down the wage bill - well we know there doing that by derisory wage rises and 40K cuts in jobs.

Destroy the Union - Well I never No more comment needed on that one.

Demoralize the work force - Doing as part of the above comment.

Divide the work force -

Get rid of middle management - we all know their next for the chop.

Get rid of loss making parts of the business - They did this better than any I've seen before as the withdraw products from the Post Offices and they say with surprise - look they are not making money.

Sell off property - Doing that already

Talk down the business and talk up the competition.

Well it seems as though they are ticking most of the boxes ready for privatisation and sell off.

well this is what i said in the 'false flag conspiricy' post. it has been deliberately designed to fail, thus giving them the best excuse in the world to privatise.....its going to happen. believe me.

This is the method we are adopting , two posties dealing with two days mail on one duty plus the specials and tracked for the duty left in . If P&L is here to stay and this is the only way it's going to work it will be excellent , you only have to walk about three miles and you don't have to worry about the weight because we have our trolleys . The customer will at least be getting their mail every other day which is a lot better than what's been going on in the last month , some duties have not gone out for five days .

...and your office will be failing around 50% of it's traffic every single day.
How long before Postcomm/Royal Mail senior management jump all over that?
Royal Mail and the CWU will have to have a major rethink on the whole park&loop strategy....going forward. :nervous
It isn't working at the moment and something will have to give....full-time jobs probably.

Postcomm need to get involved Because all RM are doing at the moment is stealing money from their customers by not providing the service the customers are paying for . Senior management can jump all over mail failing as much as they want but they can't make us posties do the impossible . Maybe the RM magical staff bus that's touring the UK pulling failing offices out of the sh*t could stop off at our office to clear the backlog .

I totally agree with you that P&L needs a major revision and hopefully with some common sense we can get a half decent way of working . Give us achievable work loads and P&L will work just fine .

Why hadn't the other deliveries gone out for 5 days? :no no :no no
Has your Manager never heard of Agency, or Casual workers, if there aren't enough of you? :d'oh!
If it wasn't because of the weather. Then I think it's way past time, that Postcomm got involved. Or better yet, the Press. :hmmmm

No, only the MC gets them, us on deliveries never get them (at least over here in NI).

The office has had very high sickness rates of 15-20% since November but they have just about kept everything going through overtime . Last week due to staff suffering from fatigue and being demoralised we saw a massive reduction in overtime being worked so the office fell apart within days . Even the office managers who were pulling more than their weight to keep the office clear have thrown the towel in . I don't know how bad things have to get to get casual workers drafted in .

IT is sad but I'm starting to get used to the sight of mail not going out . To sort the disaster of revision out is way above my pay grade . So for now it's keep calm , do the best I can but sadly we will only be able to clear our two frames occasionally .

If you had seen in the back of our van today it looked like someone had driven round a race track over 100 mph , there was stuff all over the place . I can't think of a way to put everything in so it's tidy . I think we get one minute to replenish our trolley bags , I think the planners have been a little optomistic with that one .
