A manager rang up this morning and left a message claiming that it wasn't my day off, as I believed. Apparently, he had told me on Tuesday that he'd changed it to Monday and that I'd get a day of annual leave back for it. I've got a very good memory and if he told me this, he must have whispered. It was not put down in writing and the rota quite clearly displays Friday as my day off - Friday is in fact the regular day off for the walk I am currently on.
Is there a case for B & H in this because I think it's a disgusting and deliberate attempt at FORCING me in on my day off. In fact, I would go so far as to call it another word altogether but I'll steer clear of that as this is a public forum, readable by all.
I think I'm on leave next week but the point was that he was trying to move this week's day off to Monday gone - the bank holiday - and have me work today instead. I would then claw the bank holiday back as an extra day of annual leave. However, he neglected to actually tell me this in anything else than a mumble, most certainly didn't put it down in writing, and the rota still very clearly displays Friday as my day off. Just to be clear I didn't go in today - it WAS, no matter what anybody says, my day off.hantsman wrote:taurus88 wrote:It was my day off today.

Are you talking next monday off as your day off for this week?
Ouch. How much of your thumb is missing?fishtank wrote:Interesting day...
Had an AOD...slipped,fell,twisted my already dodgy knee and took the tip of my left thumb off.
Patched myself up and carried on like an idiot, then my p&l partner drove down a hill in the bipper and just as he realised the kids had made the mother of all slides down the hill...he touched the brakes.
The bipper continued on it's own down the hill oblivious to anything we did until it hit the huge pile of ice/snow at the bottom...
Massive front plastic bumper damage and bits hanging off..but it looked mostly cosmetic...until halfway back to the D.O. the oil warning light came on and the engine started to sound like a tractor.
We nursed it back doing 20 on the dual carriageway...i think we may have killed it.![]()
The moral of the story is...don't trust the airbags on a bipper.
You obviously need to hit a wall at 100mph before they will deploy.
Tomorrow is my day off...and next week i am on holiday.
I am as happy as a pig in s**t.![]()
