Last night and the night before RM in their customer service update have said that there was 'Higher than expected volumes' in the network.
Last night they also said 'On a very busy night with very high volumes of mail...'

Were told in WTLL that traffic is down significantly therefore those with 6 D2D's should have no trouble getting them done for all 6 days without cutting off or claiming.

Told lino i was cutting off.

judging by what i had leading up to and over xmas i can confirm that for me any my colleagues it has definetly been the busiest xmas for many years 5 weeks of relentless cards and packets. Until RM and CWU can agree how many items in a perstop i will constantly dispute the constant claims that mail volumes are falling.

Mail isn't falling, what is happening is less mail is getting sorted at Mail centres.
Doesn't it click when you start delivering mail and most is DSA.

We usually get 2-3 trays of sequenced mail, today we all had at least 5. No bulk postings either, just a load of general crap. Also IPS diversion work in our DO is on as of tonight, so I think it's safe to say it's rather busy at the MC, i've heard they are between 2 and 3 weeks behind.

Still delivering loads of xmas cards as well embarrassingly, many dated as far back as the 10th Dec.

Its totally bloody pants at the moment Ive got 16 trays of mailsort flats around my frame and i only have 362 call for christ sake. ive heard of other offices in my area with 60-70 yorks on the bank and turning away 600,s back to the mail centre. ive never seen it this bad in 22 years service

Our christmas has been much quieter than normal, but thats only because our mail centre isn't getting the mail out to the DO's,
it's a farcical situation,
the mail centre recently got merged with 3 other mail centres and its caused absolute carnage,
the centre itself is full to capacity, to the extent a marquee has been rented and put up in the car park to accomodate mail and packets etc,
there is also approx 35 trailers storing mail (each can contain 50 yorks of mail) parked up on the loading bays, this leaves only a handfull of bays for drivers arriving at the centre, drivers are arriving and being told to take a break because theres nowhere for them to unload
is anywhere else like this ?
