Very heavy. Loads of flats/mags catalogues etc. Packets all over the place, 2 bags for me. I'm really glad to be off tomorrow.
Had a meeting about the revision. First half will come in a week on Monday, second half in a few weeks.

Were in a right mess with yorks of flats everywhere inside. The bank is full as well and its far worse than last year.

I got out at 9.45 and took 8 1/2 bags of mail, now thats not packets as i had a tesco tray full of those, that was nearly nine bags of letters and flats. God knows what the total weighed but the van was sagging at the back like a grannys arse

Got back at 2.30pm knackerd and booked today. No one is cutting but if this gets any worse i soon will.

I think this is the worse ive ever seen straight after christmas and have started a thread to see if anyone else is in a pickle.

Cut-off today, sick of the mother frakking bull sh*t. Well, I say cut-off, I actually left a load in the fitting and had to argue the toss with the management before I won. I think that needs a name of its own to distinguish it from cutting-off so I am calling it CUTTING-ON, because it happens at the start of your duty. Had to explain that the 13.00 bus was the last that would get me back within my duty time, therefore meaning I have to finish at 12.45 to be able to walk to the bus stop. Management offered me some babble about having to take it all out AND bring it back if I intended to cut-off. Called their bluff and said there was no way I could get it back; they knew it, I knew it, it wasn't happening - they'd have to send someone out to get it if they wanted me to do that. They said there was no-one to go and fetch it.

"Oh well," says I, ruefully.

Was asked if I thought I knew the rules about breaking off, mixed in with some other bile - the answer was a resounding YES, of course I do. Magically, the bile ceased and I was allowed to cut-on instead. Funny that.

Same again on Saturday, I'll show them what I'm leaving in and they can deal with it. Got better things to do on a Saturday than GAF about what they want. I've seen some shocking things this week; streaming, walks just being left, piles of DSA piled on yorks from before Christmas, masses of catalogues just being chucked at us, walks not going out on somebody's day off, then management claiming they had when somebody whinges - in truth, they'd been 'streamed' (filthy practice).

Utter rubbish, under-staffed and over-worked - the office is chaos. You'd think a little cutting-on couldn't possibly change a thing but they'll still argue with you and try and tell you your mother is your brother - you've got to be a) clued up, b) determined and c) prepared to reverse bullsh*t the gaffers if you're going to get yourself a fair day of work in this job.

Oh, and a few folk have jacked it in at our place - bet they won't be replaced despite the critical meltdown that is ongoing.

first day back for me after a new year break
was under the illusion that i was going to be more POSITIVE this year... well that lasted about 15 minutes
the pressure was on straight away.amazing ammounts of flats,so few sorters,expected to work my day off next 2 weeks!!!
all in all crappy new year!!!!

Our dom has taken some leave although it apears she did not tell anyone I think she's heard about the amount of mail still at the mail centre and bottled it.

What a total CRAP day. Ive got 16 frigging perstops (trays) of mail sitting around my frame and i still went an hour over . I came home today and felt totally crap about the whole thing. Even after a bottle of wine i still feel crap about it.

Ours has gone AWOL aswell, last seen xmas eve. LM in charge has gone on a 'power' trip and is throwing his weight about(and theres a bloody lot of it!..lol)
