Re: d2d this week
5 on mine today, my walk werent fully prepped real mail wise, loads of sky mags just bundled on the floor 3 packet bags and not one d2d prepped, last week i informed the line manager that he will need to get these prepped as i have not got the time to finish my walk, he conveniently ignored this and when i told him again after i tied up (with no d2d) he didnt seem to give a xxxx, my bags were all on the 14-16kg weight anyway so their was no way they could be added. in my section their are 2 posties out of the 5 who do the sorting/prepping for pt on holiday, so they have no time to prep my walk and do the ips as well, its my day off tomorrow and no one is allocated to do my walk, they assume someone will do it on o/t and thus probably with no d2d being done again. Thick as fxxx comes to mind.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

A minimum of 20% has to go out here... NO d2D can go out on a Saturday... its a sackable offence we've been told!brothermagrew wrote:The National Agreement (Business Transformation 2010 and Beyond) reached between Royal Mail and the CWU requires.... .......Any local practice will not alter the planning method, which is based on delivery of at least 1/6 of items per day.

d2D gets taken out Monday to Friday if its like the last few weeks with bank holidays etc then the 100% is divided by the number of available Monday to Friday days.
Management are sh*t hot on d2d here... we even have to sign we've completed it as per spec each day

Re: d2d this week
im not supposed to have to prep mon-thursday anyway, its supposed to be ready to tie up, so me prepping the s**t would leave me with s**t amount of time out on the walk. 4hrs contracted to do minus 20 mins break, minus travel 15-20 inc filling pouch boxes, 20 mins tie up, theirs 55 mins gone without a letter posted and walk timed at 3hrs 20 with planner. so to throw out d2d as well would mean another 20 mins, 75 mins out of the 4 hrs i got, 2hrs 45 lolPOSTMAN wrote:It's 'live' mail, get the s**t,prep the............

Re: d2d this week
Being on indoor duties this week I had to prep loads of D2D's yesterday. I was discussing with one of the LM's what % he wanted prepping bearing in mind that we don't do them on Saturdays and he said they do go on Saturdays. If it was my duty I always make sure my D2D's are done Mon-Fri, I don't want to be carrying that s**t round on a Saturday morning. Don't know what the ruling is on doing D2D's on a Saturday.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
Illegitimi non carborundum

Re: d2d this week
I'm not saying you WILL be sacked just that we've been told that as its classed as live mail not doing it is classed as 'Wilful delay' which is a sackable offence. With the way things are in my office I wouldn't like to find out. A pervious manager used to get a real 'bee in his bonnet' (what a quaint saying!) about an OPG going sick on a Saturday and leaving their d2d... he could never enforce it into 5 days until now so is making a real meal of it!POSTMAN wrote:Local agreements may be different,a bit like mine.guvenor wrote:they may think they are s*** hot but you are due to take out 1/6th every day

indy,D2D was a 5 day product,now it's a 6 day product,also the 'live mail' tag is a red herring.

Re: d2d this week
Well as I thought I got in this morning to find my duty was covered on OT and no D2Ds had been done. Told lino I'm not doing them all in 4 days as yesterday was not my responsibility and he said leave the bottom row. So much for live mail.

Re: d2d this week
Wow, didn't know some managers got all anal about them. I know of people at our place who just don't bother, especially when they're covering a walk.
