One reason is a thing called apathy 'Dingo' you know when the union leaders wash their hands and turn there backs and continue to gorge the large pies we provide for them with our hard earned cash
. it's quite obvious most would sit back and let royal fail do as they want (again area rep and above dont care) after all it's not 'our problem if the revision fails' it's about time our well paid leaders got off there arses and did the right thing not suck up to royal fails board of directors.

I've asked the why did it get voted in question... http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 42&t=31243" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
In fact i've asked loads of questions...
Revisions:Success or Failure? & Q&A's
Personally what i am interested in is when my revision comes in or is ready to be voted for and we know at our place 100% that what is in front of us is not going to work (chances are because of the traffic model dates) then what's next?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

It's a good question.POSTMAN wrote:

If you are using the lowest traffic week the duties will look too big but that doesn't necessarily mean the revision is wrong when you are using the "flexing up" idea.
If you are using the lowest traffic week the duties should only be achievable with those traffic figures so how do you know "100% that what is in front of us is not going to work" using park&loop...and trolleys?
You could test the loops but it would have to be "using the lowest traffic week".
So...you make a judgement call and say no but if all the figures in the "tools" are correct where are you going next?
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: park and loop is it working
Well i'm going to say my area rep in that case.dingo wrote:[For the upteen time I have never said some revisions have not been disasters , some have , but the question which needs to be asked is why have they been agreed ? The agreement states that the revison must have full and systematic involvement at every stage , some offices have demanded and have been given time to test each loop before agreeing the revison. Yet others have decided to agree it without any testing who`s fault is that ?
I asked when he came to our office (towards the end of our revision process) if the duties would be tested, he said "yes all the duties will be tested."
It was only after i asked him would they be tested prior to deployment that i got the real answer NO!
The "yes all the duties will be tested" meant we would have a PIR.
The reason they were not going to be tested he pointed to the charts on the wall containing the new walks and said well what if they don't work what do we do with all this.
All though it's also the fault of the staff who voted for it knowing it wouldn't work, "to get the money".
For the record Dingo i would still blame the agreement more than my area rep. IWT and Pegasus are agreed tools agreed by HQ without any performance perameters, and now we are stuck pretty much, with the performance perameters that RM were using when they were unagreed.

Re: park and loop is it working
are area rep came and looked it are revison and said that are rep had done everthing right but if you base the work load on the lightest week then it is going to fail 80 % of the time. it would make more sense to make it a mean average over the year

Re: park and loop is it working
I think that on a light 'model week' my van share duty can just be achieved within the alloted hours.
What I want to know is:
What I want to know is:
- Why base the entire model on a very infrequent bottom of the scale set of data?
- If entire offices are required to 'flex up' for the majority of the year; In order to meet the USO, is that not considered enforced overtime on a large scale?
Surely this also shows that there is a significant number of part-time employees willing and available to be employed on a full-time basis and enough work to make this a reality for a good number of them. - In order for a 'flexing up' system to be in place, there must be a set of figures/data used by Royal Mail in order to ascertain the degree of 'flexing up' which should be necessary in any particular situation. Where are these figures? and why can they not be provided to the workforce in order to show them if they truly are achieving what is to be expected.
Performance levels drop when employees feel that with best effort they are failing, surely it's a completely self-defeating scheme when for the majority of the year employees are set up to fail!

Huge failure in one of the Milton Keynes offices, but it has a silver lining, our area organiser has been rewarded for all of his hard work on our behalf with a DOM job at a nearby office.
