It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: c w u is finished there useless
Let me attempt to save this thread.
I see this year being really painful for all. The new agreement for the new rounds are being abused far too much. On the ground posties can't complete to time as it is.
So now the new geo route and IWT as kicked out unbelievable rounds which are going to be unachievable even for the fittest. My worry is not what they come up with but B & H we've all seen and what needs stamping out. IWT is a duty builder tool not an individual performance tool. However, our dom has already indicated he's gonna use it like a stick. Now we've already seen on a separate thread offices all over failing over this. Christmas in our office was a complete failure due to traffic volume and lack of planning/staff/vans/pda's/sorters.
We failed on mail everyday over Christmas.
Now IMHO we'll be sold off this year and all this will be academic. The government will get around 34Billion in the total sell off with only a 1Billion pension yearly liability (source The Times). So with the long knives coming out this year i can't see any other option.
Now my point about the union.Pay subscription for a company who's primed for sell off?
B & H will the "umbrella of the union save us with the changes"?
Shouldn't the union at area level get involved in the changes and how unachievable they are. It's just another cut on paper. On the ground totally impossible. I'd like to see a rm manager and union rep test say two rounds of our choosing per section.
I'd also like further training for reps because i believe they try but some just don't have the knowledge. For example, being sent home early when we had snow. we all had to pay back the lost hours. According to an employment solicitor this was unlawful. `now i don't know myself, but surely we can get advice from area to just clarify.

On a similar line of thought.
If 60,000 couldn't be bothered to put a X in a box.
How can we expect them to take an active part in a revision process.
And another thought if the majority (who voted) voted yes to the deal they will most likely to follow suit and vote for the revision whatever.
