Late Special Delivery

Post by PontingPanda »

Hi and hello hello.

I was due a SD item today. My postie has been and gone. I asked him and he said he had nothing for me apart from a normal letter. I called customer services and they have said it may still be with me before 1pm by another driver (which ive heard never actually happens). They Said it arrived at my Main Mail Centre (Edinburgh) at 530am.

My question really is, if I call my local mail centre say this evening, is there a chance they will have it and I can collect ? Its really important document I need asap.

Thanks for your time

have you tried ringing your local delivery office? If it was at the MC at 530am,then the driver from the MC who does the run to your DO should of checked the priority services locker for any specials before leaving for your DO?

It's a nightmare calling them and they never answer, I can understand at this time of year. It's also a bus ride away and not very close.

Is it true I may still get someone turn up by 1am ?

Thanks for you speedy reply :D

There's been problems with the system for a few days (that I know of), and the information is unlikley to be accurate. It's much better to speak to someone in person. Although, normally the Tracking System is good.

We received a york of SD last night all dated the 18th December and our MC still had 18 full trailers in the yard to be unloaded. God know how many more bags of SD are in those cages but we know there are thousands of untouched tracked items in there and they won't get done this week.

Got it !

Ended up going to my Local Mail Centre and they apoloised as it arrived late or something and missed the van from my Main mail centre to local Depot.

They were very apologetic and gave me all the details for a refund etc which I found very good as there was a massive queue of grumpy people in the depot.

Time of year/weather/were all human :D

Cheers again

It is possible that the driver on that duty could deliver a special delivery item after the postman/walker has delivered his "letters/small packets"it happens all the time .(FACT)
