I am writing this letter in response to the recent mail strikes that have hit the country.
The postal workers are striking mainly because they have been offered a 2.9 per cent pay rise.
They already earn £324 per week. Most postmen and women are home by 11.30am every day, thus working a six-hour day five days a week, which equates to £10.80 per hour.
I wish I was earning that amount, and have you ever seen a poor postman or woman?
They have three to four-bedroom houses, two+ cars, foreign holidays - something's gone wrong somewhere.
Come on posties, stop moaning and get on with it.
Over to you lads.

If you want to earn that amount (and I assure you we don't), just carry on writing works of fiction like this one - there must be a market for it somewhere - maybe under the heading of "Delusions of intelligence"TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Thanks to brisomerset for passing the details:

What complete crap, I transferred to devon that is how we managed to buy a 3 bedroom house, could never afford one in berkshire as for foreign holidays have only been abroad once as a family and that was cause I cashed in my endownment policy and switched to repayment mortgage,we have 1 car which is now 5 yrs old and the last time I performed deliveries i never finished before 12.30 and even then I cut off 2 days a week, and that was 20 yrs ago.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Thanks to brisomerset for passing the details:

ONCE AGAIN WE HAVE A PRIZE PILLOCK MAKING REMARKS ABOUT A JOB THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT.MOST POSTIES USE UP MORE ENERGY IN A DAY THAN YOUR AVERAGE OFFICE WORKER USES IN A WEEK. THIS PRATT NEEDS A REALITY CHECK. DO YOU THINK IT'S PLEASANT GOING TO BED AROUND 8.30 AT NIGHT CAUSE YOU HAVE TO BE UP AT 4 . EVEN WORSE IN THE SUMMER WHEN IT'S STILL DAY LIGHT, AND WHEN THIER IN THE PIT IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER IT'S US FREEZING OUR BOLLOCKS OFF. IF YOU ONLY WORK ON THE BASIS OF WALKING 6 MILES A DAY THEN IN THE TIME IVE BEEN DOING THE JOB IV'E WALKED ALMOST 3 TIMES AROUND THE WORLD. AND THAT DOSE'NT INCLUDE THE WALKING OUT SIDE OF WORK.THEN THERES ALL THE YEARS BEFORE ANY OF THE SO CALLED H&S STUFF WHEN NEVER MINED BAG WIEGHT LIMITS YOU WERE SHOWN HOW TO GET THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF MAIL INTO A SINGLE POUCH. RESULTING IN NECK AND SHOULDER NOW KNACKERD.I BET IF YOU SHOWED THIS PERSON FILM OF A SOLDIER MARCHING WITH A PACK ON HIS BACK THEY WOULD THINK f**k THAT FOR A LARK. WELL WE DO IT 5 DAY'S A WEEK WITH ANYTHING FROM 6-8 BAGS, SO WHATS THE DIFFERENCE. IF OUR JOB IS SO EASY HOW COME RM CANT KEEP NEW STAFF. PEOPLE LIKE THIS MAKE ME PUKE. I BET THEY SIT AND WATCH TO SEE IF THE POSTMAN SHUTS THE GATE OR PUTS A FOOT ON THIER LAWN SO THEY CAN RING UP AND COMPLAIN SAD c***'S, GET A LIFE . DO YOU GET THE IMPRESSION I'M UPSET. TOMMO MAKE ME LAUGH.

I could never get a mortgage down here, average house price is well over £150,000, instead I'm forced to rent paying my hard earned cash to some power crazy property developer, I've never had a holiday and my car is 20 years old. Oh, and I never finish before 12.00. People like that need a wake up call. He's probably annoyed because his DSS money's been cut and told to get a job, lazy b******

posties
What a tosser who ever it may be, I very rearley get home before 12:25 most days at about 12:55 so do not make too much time .This asshole who wrote that about us decent posties should try our job for 6 months. Be lucky if they lasted a day. I have never seen so many people drop out of a job like ours ,people think that we just come in and take the mail out and that's it Soon wakes them up when they have to prep the walk as well . Some posties may get home earley but let's face it we have earned it

don't worry...
Come on guys...don't mock the afflicted, this fella is definitely either very ill in the head or perhaps just a chronic p**shead who still has beer goggles on when the knackered postie crawls up the garden path on his hands and knees, last time i heard a short sighted attitude like that it was coming out of a scab..the address was probably witheld because it came from a drop in centre or something..don't let these people get at you people...the real public..the ones that greet us with a smile and bid us good morning..the people that need, respect and rely on us..they know better..wer'e better than this.
if you aint payin..the mails stayin!!!

Only too true, most people do not have a clue what we do.
I remember office workers having a laugh about our kid who used to enjoy a few pints after work in his local(after the old 2 deliveries on high street ,boots lasted about 3 months)"cannot be bad postie finished at 12:30 and he does not look underfed" they would joke.He certainly was a thick set man but even their "gym going crowd" would have not got half way round his 1st delivery before collapsing!

I once heard a member of the public complain to a postman, that "Those people living in council houses were getting their mail before he did"
