Re: CLEAR OFFICE
A full load of mail came in today with no less parcels than all week , so anyone thinking of an early finish was stuffed. I took one look at my full york of parcels and told the dom straight away i could not see myself getting round. She could not understand it , she actually said so
the fact ive been taking up to 6 hours to get round on this ice seems to have not registered with her at all, but then ive not been going home to nearly 3pm all week and she's been out the door by 1pm
.
Anyway She called "live mail only" which due to the amount of christmas cards i knew was not going to make any difference (in fact i left 9 calls out of 362). She came round again looking very concerned at the frame of mail but offering no practical advice. So i told her i would clear the parcels first then start the delivey as normal until i began to run out of time at which point i would clear the packets. Which is what i did and cut off a bag and a half at 13.45
.
Oh my concerned dom went home at 10.40am as she had a lot still to do at home
. Bless
Merry Christmas, weve done our best

Re: CLEAR OFFICE
Our office is nowhere near clear after today. I cleared everything that was given to me to take out, but there's still mail crammed on yorks, mostly DSA rubbish. Alright, alright, I tell a lie, we cleared most of the stuff that mattered! It was quite light today, took me three and a half hours to get round. Finished at 11.45am. Am very happy to have a good four days off now as my body has taken a battering the last three/four weeks.

Re: CLEAR OFFICE
Got back to the Office at around 12:30 after plodding around my walk to find the place devoid of any management! The callers was open but apart from that the place was deserted. Office totally clear....Town Corner had about 5 or 6 letter in it. Its been the lightest Christmas I've ever seen by a country mile!

Re: CLEAR OFFICE
Thought our DIM was going to cry when he said we had failed today
Don't whether it was because of the bonus or that he was genuinely upset and concerned.
Did say that we had "All done very well"
considering the snow etc

At least that makes sense (ish)fishtank wrote: Office clear of packets...jammed full of letters and flats.![]()
Fail.
We failed letters, flats and packets.
I suggested we fail the deliveries to concentrate on clearing the packets but the word from up above was - spend part of the morning sorting Spring/Summer catalogues even if you have no intention of delivering them.
Next week we won't have the resources to clear the packets we failed today.
Christmas just isn't happening in Cambuslang.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: CLEAR OFFICE
We failed parcels, packets, flats and letters big style...............the manager was really disappointed but it wasn't his fault and it wasn't ours .....it was a failure of the organisation that spends money on everything except the wherewithal to carry out the tasks for which it is intended. Is it any wonder that there are calls for privatisation? The influx of Internet shopping has been forecast and yet RM was certainly not prepared for it and probably in retrospect would not have rushed the modernisation programs through but relied on the tried and trusted methods which have worked in the past.
The one thing I believe, that has been said in recent years, is that the higher management set to steer this company back to profitability and success are woefully inadequate.

Re: CLEAR OFFICE
No packets sorted today even though we had yorks of them.Just sorting from 6.00 till 8.00 then tie and go.Deck packed with yorks of mail left.WTF.I finished 11.30! Had three pouches! Nothing.Customers mean nothing to our managers. But not complaining about early finish.Mugs.
