The "How is your xmas week 2010" thread

Wasn't allowed use of the HCT, so had to use the stupidly placed, awkward pouch boxes, so could only take some smaller packets and mail.

Had to leave quite a few packets on the frame which I couldn't either fit in my bag, or that I knew wouldn't go in the pouch box, and I'll have to do it again tommorow.

Without my HCT for bigger packets it screws up the round. I can only carry what I can carry.

Well a new all time record for my walk of 6hr 10 min . Letters were about what you expect for this time of year and prob 10 per house on ave, flats were well down. But parcel's, my god ! I had a york and a half of which 50% were tracked Amazon's.

My PDA totally died after about the first 3 so i phoned the office to see if they could run out a spare? Only to be told they dont have a spare so the dom said deliver them un-scanned anyway, which is what i did

Got back to the office at 3.30pm totally cream crackered. Thank god iam giving up the van next year and can look forward to a normal delivery again

Did the pda just completly lock up? Rebooting them by taking the battery out normally fixes 'em

First week back at work after 37 days sick leave. Indoors on a 9am start.

Another long, heavy day... 0800 start, 1030 on delivery, claiming on the docket until just after 1600.

Just glad there's only two days left, finding it more mentally than physically tiring, as I struggle to do bits after work like the bulk Xmas food shopping and then have time to unwind before its bedtime...

In at 7, out at 10, finish getting on 3:30. Snow, slush, sleet, uncleared paths and pavements making going slow. Dreaded lurgy raising its ugly head and ive only really just got over the last bout. 2 more days......

Finished at 13.20. It was cold and the snow was evil but I managed to get a head of steam up, helped by getting rid of all but one parcel. Have just about got over a cold I've had for the past week or so, so I probably found an extra 10% from feeling almost back to normal again.

Yeah i tried everthing but the screen was just blank and the red light stayed on. It was the same this morning so i had to do another 20 odd tracked pacels without scanning them.

All the slush was frozen soild today so i spent 5hr 30 min walking on ice and waiting to fall over, got back at around 3pm. The spikies did really well though and kept me upright

They are already almost worn through in places so i doubt they will last much longer, 3 days on a snow covered delivery really aint all that good, perhaps they were going cheap.

44 Specials,46 tracked and 167 rural delivery points plus collection = nearly 6 hours.
One day to go think it might be a monster packets already arrving from M.C early afternoon ready for xmas eve.

mental day absolutely mental

more bloody xmas cards, so many packets ( 6 bags) and a bloody bulk posting of A4 magazines from the local council ( thanks you very much why couldn't you send them at the beginning of december )

too heavy, too cold, too icy ( where it had melted yesterday and refrozen overnight) didn't get out till 10.45 finished at 16.30 totally fecked off

was told when I got back more of the same tomorrow
