MC/RDC updates please:xmas week
Any chance you guys could give us an update during this week on what's happening at your MC/RDC.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We finally cleared all the TRACKED MAIL in our MC for the first time in 3 weeks tonight!!!
And after a while, you can work on points for style,
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake,
A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.
You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to,
So that when they turn their backs on you,
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.

Not much Inward Foreign Mail arriving at Mount Pleasant as Heathrow has loads of flights cancelled because of snow.
I expect it will start arriving once they get the flights back on schedule, but probably too late for delivery before Xmas.
We are concentrating on getting letters out.

Swindon (SN/OX/RG) switched to running all 3 shifts on inward packets yesterday, running manual/mech on both inward and outward, collection packets and maybe more diverted elsewhere. Backlog should be clear shortly, I don't envy the DOs being bulked out today.

This weeks been as quiet as a normal week in the summer 6week holidays, non existant outward mail, with a fair bit of IPS,but nothing they cant handle. Most of the managers have too many staff/casuals for their areas, and are busy trying to get rid of staff!
same as it ever was...

Send them to deliveries - seriously do some of us are struggling with the weather, injuries and volumes.
In all seriousness does any know why deliveries no longer get Xmas Casuals any more, MCs get them because of the increase but DOs who have to deliver it don't.

We heard that HWDC is totally swamped with 53m items, despite having an Outhouse with hundreds of casuals next door.
And RM wanted to transfer more of the Inward Foreign mail there at beginning of December, now postponed to beginnng of January.
Makes you wonder how thy will cope next Xmas when they will supposedly be processing all the Inward and Outward Foreign mail.
