Outward RDC Volumetric Acceptance

Hi All,

I know that things have been very difficult in many parts of the country but we have mostly missed the bad weather here west of the Pennines.

BT has despatched a new Hub for installation by their Engineers as the upgrade to the super high speed Infinity Broadband. They have given me a tracking number but the status reads "Outward RDC Volumetric Acceptance" and it is at YDC??

In simple terms, what does this mean? Might it have now crossed the Pennines to Warrington or my local delivery office and be delivered soon?

i'am also wating for my bt infinity package, but so far no luck with delivery i have just tracked it online and it shows:

10-DEC-2010 08:52:35 Pre-advice Received

i cannot cope with this dongle anymore lol. any ideas eta for delivery?

I hear that a lot of RDCs are not scanning tracked items received via the initial receiving RDC, due to the huge number of Amazon packets.

I had a parcel from Amazon which itself only showed three entries on Amazon's tracking page in the 'My Account' section of their website:

dispatched from Gourock
received at SDC
out for delivery at xxxxxxx office

(so not scanned at PRDC)

In simple terms, what does this mean?

I assume it means that your item was in a cage with loads of others, and that the cage has entered the RM pipeline.

Me too. BT are installing Monday 22/12.

This is a poor show by Royal Mail and whatever sympathy I might have had for them as an organisation has evaporated. Chrimbo happens every year and it is the height of incompetence not being able to cope for tracking purposes.

Even worse to use mumbo jumbo on the tracking information. Shame on Royal Mail.

i have the same problem to,bt supposed 2 b installing 2day (20-12),and my parcel is stuck in yorkshire distribution center,so annoyed.please royal mail,update the tracking system

We sorted about 40 RSC's FULL of BT Broadband Parcels and Large Packages last night...

I'm waiting for BT stuff too - parcel has been showing as Outward RDC Volumetric Acceptance at Yorkshire DC since last Monday (1 week ago)

Does RM operate a last in / first out type policy for backlogged mail? Only I am hearing that stuff posted NOW is more likely to arrive than stuff stuck in the backlog??? ??
