The Royal Mail has finally shortlisted nine agencies in the first stage of its search for a new PR roster, after significant delays.
The shortlist is believed to include all of the original roster plus Citigate, Burson-Marsteller, Weber Shandwick and Fishburn Hedges.
The original roster includes Shine Communications, Blue Rubicon, 3 Monkeys, Lansons and Eulogy.
A Royal Mail spokesperson would not comment on successful or unsuccessful agencies, but said: ‘We were very pleased with the response we received to the first stage of the process. We are now moving this process forward and last week we notified all agencies of the first round results.’
Royal Mail issued a tender for its PR roster in June, pricing the four-year briefs at £12m. The tender suggested no more than seven agencies will be on the roster.
It is thought that the new roster will be in place by next April.
