Abuse of the system, abuse of power, the manager will know full well the anger and stress he`s causing. Could be justly seen as bullying and harrasment by the manager, especialy if you rarely get Saturdays off or the duty your covering is scheduled for a different day off. If this was affecting me I`d be happy to send a B&H form in to the DOM before the end of this week. Its better than just stewing over it all Christmas. ........
Most employees work mon-sat floating day off. You get saturday off every week and don't have to use any of your annual leave, like most of royal mail employees have to if they need saturday off
I have been informed by a postie friend in anonther office that if your day off falls on a Saturday during xmas (long weekend), you only get ONE day off in credit. Management say it is union agreed but surely this is discrimination? Others will not lose out!

you dont lose out, you still get exactly your holiday entitlement, your just not getting the extra day off that everyone else is
Why didn't the union just agree to start back on Tuesday 28th
That way no- one will of been "sold down the river" .
Much better than current deal "no losers"

depends on your perspective, you cant loose something you never had in the first place, but you are not gaining like everyone else is, you could take the arguement a step further and point out that our NI collegues all get an extra bank holiday day per year over the mainland posties(12 july) so the majority are loosing out there but no great outcry
