Busy all day. Not stopped. Did some parcels in the afternoon/evening. At the moment there doesn't seem to be an end to it. Freezing cold all day, but no snow.

Did 2 hours in the van doing some parcels, then got called in to cease deliveries and called it a day. Not looking forward to monday tho

Hardly any mail but loads of packets again. My walk took me three and a half hours exactly. Feel like the ends of my fingers are about to fall off.

Finished the whole duty first time this week

With the weather coming in again then it may also be the last time

Went sick today,ive had a stinking cold all week and my left arm is very sore lucky for me im right handed
Dont think i will go back untill after xmas now.

A bit "sporting" today Tried both snow chains and spikeys (spikeys 1 snowchains 0 in my estimation). Second lot of mech was late (yet again !) so we had the "take it or leave it" option given to us at 0730 - I took it (well it's gotta go sometime or other ). Went about 20 minutes over - I can live with it ... sorting tomorrow (8 till 2) - something new (for me anyway !). No real football on up our way (all Conference, Evo-Stik and Vodkat league games off), so am getting the "pub urge" for an hour or three (once I've defrosted )

Well i knew the snow was coming but i had hoped it would wait till i was home safe and sound, but no chance.
Got up at 3.30am (as were starting at 5am) and left the house at 4.20 and took a slow steady drive in with the temp showing -7 deg c.
The mech was late so we sat around scratching our arses till 6.20am (i could have had an extra hour in bed ). Got out about 8.30am and drove to my delivery town. I put on chains today and they coped well on the ice . I started getting dark by around 11am but i still had 2 hours to go, by 11.30 it was light snow which settled straight away. All was ok till about 12.20 when the sky opened in a massive blizzard, total wipe out and i could not see more than 20 meters.

I thought sod this and got in the van to go back, just in time as it was a foot deep by the time i drove back to the office at 10-20 mph and cars were slipping and getting stuck everywhere. I drove my own car to a mates house near the office and left it on his drive as it was too risky to drive home. Waited 45 min for the last bus out of town and finally got home 2.30pm knackered.

Just finished shifting a ton of snow of the drive and now looking forward to a cold beer and prob an early night.

Kept indoors today shuffling the great packet mountain around as half a dozen casuals did my delivery.
36 drivers in tomorrow with around 30 casuals to move the mountain to the...customers.
Not for me thanks.

phoned office at 530 told not to bother coming in has they could not get mail to the office.went back to bed a very happey man.havnt deliverd on my round since thursday.merry xmas

Long tiring day in sub zero temeratures. Didn't get out until nearly 10am. finished well gone 3pm. Snowed heavily during the night, and started again while I was out on delivery. Hands are hurting like hell, with all the paper cuts and dry patches.

We had heavy snow last night around 6 inches, we got the option today to either 1. stay in and do indoor work 2. go out and take a couple of rows or 3. take everything out and what you bring back put back into frame, the idiot that I am chose option 3, and boy was it hard trudging through the snow, but left all packets that wouldnt fit through the door and manged to finish around 11.30. There are probably 10 yorks worth of packets left as no drivers did much of anything so much for an easy week next week, untill now we had cleared the office every day.

got phone call at home at 5 am by line manager told to turn my alarm clock off as mail cant get to office ...............was supposed to do 8 hours ot.
hardly any snow here
got monday off.........they better not phone me monday morning...............i think i will unplug phone and turn off mobile
