Mixed day.
A little flurry of snow descended and promptly froze, making my round a giant open-air ice rink. People who managed to complete in the worst of the snow, failed to complete today. I come from the "the mail must get through" school unfortunately.
Bizarrely I had a first class letter posted yesterday in Cambridge, delivered today in Cambuslang. I can't remember the last time I delivered a first class letter the next day.
And then a second class letter posted yesterday in SE Anglia. How did that manage to arrive so quickly. Is it because they have xmas casuals on the imps?
Also a second class letter posted 3/12 in SE London. You can take the boy out of Brixton, but you can't get the letters out with him eh?
Loads of buddy trays again. Why?

A heavy day down south with bulk Traveline flats which i had problems jamming in the frame. Only 4 reg but ended up with 27 scanned items including tracked. Pissed down all day which was better than snow. Took 5hr 10 min to get round

In 2 hours early on o/t to prep my own walk, very cold and snowy whilst out, did another hours o/t on another walk, glad to be back in the warm house.

Yep, we were the same, at least 7 buddy trays i had today, lots of packets for the duties, so much so, a lot of it was left behind.
There just seems to be no order of protocol in place to efficiently get the stuff out the door, amazon tracks have went through the ROOF!
It's starting to get a knightmare to keep the tracked's that are just in seperate from the tracks that failed the day before, and the shut tracks, and the tracks that no one has got a clue whether it's been scanned or not pile!
Evening deliverys are happening, and sunday is a MUST, will be very surprised if we clear the whole depot for xmas!

Really busy today. Loads of packets. 13 recorded items. Even managed to deliver some parcels, late afternoon, early evening. Shattered now, so I'm off to bed for an early night. Just counting the days down now until xmas eve. Really looking forward to the break.

walked in to work today becouse the snow was so bad.got there for 930 .mail never arived till late but it was there when i got in .we then finished sorting and then prep the rounds.no vans went out of our office so we left at 1110 for a nice walk home .

ANOTHER day with sod all work.... had 3 mech bundles to start then did 20 minutes of IPS finished throwing it all off, doing the dead, redirections and packets by 07:20 so went to the 'quiet room' for a sleep until the mis-sorts arrived at 08:30 bit more work arrived but not much. Was out and posting my first letter by 10:15. Plodded around and finished around 12:20pm

No deliveries at all today from this office! Offered indoor work, half day holiday or clawback! Told 'em in no uncertain terms, no deal!

Ended up with not much mail as mail centre truck couldn't climb steep hill a few miles away, took out what we had, which wasn't that much. No sequenced mail the last 2 days. Think tomorrow is going to be he'll. But won't be working when it starts getting dark.

Its the thing i most worry about having to drive to work, if these latest snow gets bad iam going to walk to my local office.

Yeah I was fine It the first really baddy I've had only had the car 3 months as well,lucky there wasnt anything about at the time I ended up facing the other way on the other side of the road took out the whole left side of my car basically bouncing off 2 walls.
Once I got the car recovered I thought I might as well walk to work and get something done just to take my mind of it more then anything.Lads in the office were great though all gave me a round of applause for getting in with a few coughing "w*nker" you know what it's like!

But yeah Krussel not risking it again and will be walking if's it's to bad staying down parents tonight which is only 1/2 mile from the office rather then the 20+ miles I do a day to get in.Rather safe then sorry! (and i thought id never say that!)
