At the xmas arrangements meeting we were told that with the new iLSMs at GMC we would be getting more direct mail and less buddy trays.
Today - no direct trays but 4/5 buddy trays each.
Why? Why is it easier for you lot to send 4 buddy trays rather than 2 direct trays each?
(Please don't do it again)
What's the difference between direct mail and buddy mail? Is direct mail walk sorted and buddy mail walk sequenced?

No - by direct mail I mean a tray of mail for my walk only (say G72/1)
A buddy tray is split between 2 walks - (say G72/1 and G72/2)
Neither are sequenced.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

aye - my office had an abundance of buddy trays today for each walk. I had to sort through four of the blighters. What's that all about? we didn't see any last week - have they all just come through at once?

You may remember this thread....

http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 02#p329627" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

you had enough input to it.

Where do I get "others do it too"? Clearly my MC does (otherwise I wouldn't have said it) and the other two posters in this thread. Clear now?

And if you "don't travel around other MCs", then why doubt that it's a national problem just because yours doesn't do it? What sort of postie logic is that?
{Although maybe you should try casuals on IMPs 3 and 4, they couldn't do any worse than the numb-nuts on there currently :shhhhh }
LOL,seems i hit a sore point.You counted to 10 yet....?
Nice to see you have taken the trouble to research your input,you are without doubt the better man... :Applause
Problem with me is,i spend far too much time enjoying my life OUTSIDE RM.Obviously i lack your dedication to this,and many other threads,i salute you! :Very Happy
Happy Christmas,hope you get the WD40 you so rightly deserve this Christmas... :Very Happy

Leaving all the "let's go off on a tangent" routine aside, why bother posting if you don't know?
Who does that help, when the question was asked whether it goes on or not?

BTW no research needed. Those IMPS always prop up the league tables..... :silenced

When you two have finished your little love fest,could one of you explain why we are getting buddy trays and no mech.
It doesn't make sense to us in the DO. Why does it make sense from a MC point of view?

A buddy tray is split between 2 walks - (say G72/1 and G72/2)
Neither are sequenced.

How open?

so its 2 walks,but in the same tray?I take it they are banded seperately.It could be that the mail is being walk sorted,rather than sequenced to save time,as that only needs 1 pass thru an imp,instead of 3 thru a CSS?Only a guess mind you...

OMG - if they were banded separately it wouldn't be such a pain in the proverbial.
Buddy trays are just 2 walks randomly mixed in one tray.
We don't understand the benefit of sending 4 buddy trays rather than 2 mech trays each.
