Christmas Claw back in Mail Centres

We've been informed by our Mail Centre Manager that the night shift must attend at midnight on Tuesday 28 Dec 2010 so it can get it's 3 attendances in. Now according to the Christmas agreement 2010, it not only states that Mon 27 & Tues 28 are the designated Christmas day and Boxing Day bank holidays and that normal bank holiday arrangements apply, but it also states "As agreed in 2004, people will not be required to make up hours they would have worked arising from the bank holidays or non USO days". ( i.e there will be no claw back)
Could any of my Mail Centre colleagues/Area/local processing reps on RMC let me know if their night shifts have been told the same.

On the Tuesday night, we're back in at 00:00 as your then into Wednesday and so technically the bank holiday is over. I can't see too much of a point in doing so though as there won't be any mail coming in.

I've been waiting for a recorded delivery item since last tuesday but still not here its coming from bristol? does anyone know if they have a bog backlog down there?

Im an Area Processing rep and can say If your night shift starts on a monday night then their will start on Wednesday Night
like the agreement says they will be no Clawback its only the Late shift who lose out again

Correct!! there is NO clawback this year,the mail centre where i work the nightshift returns on Wednesday night.

We have been told our night shift will be back on the Wednesday Night and there is no claw back this year.

GMC nightshift return TUES 28th at 2200 hrs, first two hours at o/t and a day in lieu (D-I-L part must be breaking managements hearts)

believe it to be the same the following week.
would'nt be in the least surprised if they asked for volunteers for the Monday evening
owing to the backlog of mail

So you start your shift at midnight , another example of RM not giving a thought
about people who have to use Public Transport! not everyone has a car even in
this day and age. Our caring sharing employer right enough

Shambolic is the right word for it but RM have the term"SHAMBOLIC" down to a tee,
It's their tried and trusted method of running a once great organisation in to the ground
you know the words brewery...piss-up....organise.....could'nt ! sum's them up really FUDS!
