Macclesfield parcels, packets & bloody tracked going through the roof, there are cages of normal Parcels & packets 3 or 4 days old, yet tracked come in & they have to go straight out, now that can't be right. :no no

Right now I think that my depot will not clear the packets...

Lino was wandering around our section asking if anyone was intrested in soem driving overtime, despite no "change over" to date for those offered the o/t, including myself. My fellow regular pre-Xmas mercenary overtime colleagues turned him down too. Turned out he was looking for Sunday mercenaries, but besides feeling I would "melt" under the stress of the new situation of driving deliveries (stress management is awful for us Seasonal Affective Disorder sufferers), Sundays have been my one day off for about two months and this coming one happens to be my birthday

Only 3 days of delivery to go, so how is everyone getting on?

Just heard today that our office has 320 yorks that are left in two outhouses, the mail centre, and our office. This is no thanks to a revision & snow.

Our office will not clear for christmas, we also went into revision in November. You get the feeling that this modernisation plan is flawed. There perhaps should have been a little bit more research before they plunged ahead and spent so much money.

It is flawed DV....The IWT and Georoute are both flawed.
We have guys who would normally fly round standing scratching their heads wondering what they are doing wrong and the answer is...nothing....these tools do not reflect reality....they NEVER drop a letter...they NEVER missort...they never have a bad day or a dodgy knee...they never get more tired as the week goes on...
They have taken a relatively simple job and scienced it into oblivion.
And before the usual suspects jump on to say that it's all about the input...it's not...ours was done by people from both sides from outside the office who were supposed to be as highly trained as you can get.
If these MAJOR revisions are replicated throughout the country Royal Mail will be insolvent by next Christmas.
They have f****d up big time. :cuppa

ours is going to be a total failure, delivered half my walk today due to vans geting stuck on hills and the half i did was 3 days worth, none of todays new mail prepped just pre-tied up mail from friday onwards setup totally wrong for a car driver not a walker. other walks told not to go out even though they on total flat and right next door to similar rounds, yorks of random packets/tied up mail. packet drivers going out with tracked/specials only and then having to skip half cos of the snow/ice. The part of my walk left already prepped is full of council newsletter thick heavy as furk things to every house, so for certain my walk is going to be a total failure :Very Happy

Up until tonight, I thought our office would clear. Sadly :Very Happy , its snowing here now and forecast is 4-5 inches overnight(N.Wales). I am sick and tired of our Dom putting the onus on us, rural deliveries, during the bad weather,he has kept saying "only go where you feel is safe to go", meaning if you have any type of mis-hap, then we are responsible. If we only went where it was 100% safe, then we it will hardly be worth us leaving the fooking office. Well enough is enough for me, if he says the same to me tomorrow then I will take him up on it and tell him that I will not be going out on un-treated roads!! This will mean leaving 90% of my round in the frame :nana

I don't know about other offices but I don't think I have ever seen such a dejected workforce as these guys and gals, there is no christmas spirit and because of the revision it's as though xmas has been with us for 8 weeks and it does wear a bit thin. We would normally have had a breakfast laid on for the two weeks run up to christmas eve............not this year..............people can't wait for the break.

Relativly small office 28 walks and 6 driving duties and it did look like we would clear until the weekend gone when we gat hammered with snow, over a foot deep and freezing harder each day, packets are now going through the roof, I think will put people off next year ordering on line.

I think it will be cleared ok. But again we can't clear backlog outside the delivery office.
