Post by rolf »

Heard today that Edinburgh mail centre is about to close its doors as all mail being diverted to England for to be sorted, no collections, just cant clear the mail, anyone know of any truth in this.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Glasgow Mail Centre was just on the tele and the manager interviewed assured everyone that everything was going swimmingly and everything would be delivered in time for xmas.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Mail seems to be moving OK at Mount Pleasant, but I did hear that some diversions to
Jubilee Mail Centre were returned to MP as they couldn't cope with any more.

Can someone in senior management explain to me how this is happening, I mean, £2billion of investment must've meant loads of new machines to do the sorting :hmmmm .....................oh wait, I've just remembered all they did was take the existing machines and change the software :chuckle

I wonder if any of our management will end up in the MOD to help them spend their money 'better' :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

I watched this too. He was asked a specific question: "How big is the backlog?". He never answered and neatly side-stepped the issue. Typical RM management - they are taught to be evasive..

TBH from what I've seen, the stuff we're getting in from mail centre is coming thru (more than the usual xmas) but from what I hear the SDC is full of packets. Including a couple of my presents for xmas :(

MC driver who come to pickup collections said Glasgow was storing mail wherever they can find space.

I went to drop off mail @ mc & asked a driver (he also does acting manager), he says it gettign sent to carlisile & further south to get sorted / stored. This was for both edinburgh & Glasgow.

ps if u see my wage slip from last week plz send it back. i need to tell rm i've been massively over paid last week but need to check the wage sllip first.
