NEW DELHI:
Soon, you may be able to pay the traffic fine to the postman who comes to deliver the challan at your home. To save traffic violators from the hassle of going to the local traffic court to pay challans that are sent home, the traffic police is in the process of developing a tie-up with the postal department.
''We are talking to the postal department to work out the modalities of the process, and are finding solutions to tangles like legal aspects and also how the inter-departmental fund transfer will take place,'' said a senior traffic police officer.
Apparently they also collect mail and you can pay household bills through them as well. Hope this never comes in or our rounds will be 10 hrs long and our bags will never get lighter.
