It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We've had a revision, no snow and will struggle to clear for christmas BUT we aren't the only ones...........my son paid for a Saturday delivery through Amazon via City Link............it is now Tuesday and it still hasn't arrived...............the tracking number shows it to be in Wednesbury, about 100 miles away, since early yesterday......................so will they clear for Xmas? I still have some outstanding packets to arrive............

Re: Will your office clear for Christmas?
We failed the USO on christmas eve last year were told to only deliver Christmas cards, we also failed packets.
We haven't had our packets clear all year.
The plan was not to have no packet duties for xmas as they would be cleared by park and loop.
We went live with a WSM revision 6 weeks before Christmas, Which was failing the USO every day on every delivery that the staff didn't stay out to stupid o'clock to complete.
We were hammerd by Snow 2 weeks ago, thats still here and set to get worse, 3 days without any delivery. ( 2 of the days last week when i got in my car to go to work it was -16c then -18c.)
We have staff working crazy amounts of O/T, pleased for the part timers they can get a full time wage if they want one.
We have casuals and managers from other offices in helping.
We have packets everywhere, we may clear the mail, i'll be astonished if we clear the packets.
and i hear Dunferline is worse.

Re: Will your office clear for Christmas?
Been waiting for a packet from Amazon. It arrived at Yorkshire Distribution Centre on 5th december. It has taken 7 days for it to go from there to Doncaster MC. They have despatched it to my local DO and as yet 4 days later it has still not arrived. If this is the way Royal Mail are running their business, I as a postman feel bitterly ashamed. There is no chance of them clearing for Christmas. Today managers were drafted in to Sheffield to ASSIST with clearing a Distribution Centre at breaking point.

Re: Will your office clear for Christmas?
Dunfermline had posties in from other offices last sunday to do packets.
The packets were not sorted into areas and I heard that some posties were
delivering to the same houses with a packet that other posties had just been to
They are trying to keep on top of it so that it wont become another Dundee West disaster
but I dont hold out much hope if they need other posties in.
