Re: Yorkies!!!!!
we seem to be getting most stuff come into the office in RSCs now, it'll probably only be a matter of time (probably before xmas) when we get a shift not send out any dispatches through having nothing to dispatch the work on/in, and MCs actually had that happen?

I dread to think what our MC will look like tonight when I go in...
It was bad enough when I left at 6 on Sunday morning....

And after a while, you can work on points for style,
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake,
A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.
You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to,
So that when they turn their backs on you,
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.

Re: Yorkies!!!!!
Think yourselves lucky you're not getting the mail in RCCs. We've been getting them for weeks now, despite assurances, every year that it's the last year we'll see them. They're just so dangerous. Particularly when tipping a trailer, with double stacked RCCs!

Re: Yorkies!!!!!
The Yorkie problem still has'nt improved, the big problem is our mail center(Watford)has so much work going through the system at the moment, all the DO's it feeds can not keep up,therefore work is sitting in the yorks at many DO's,some DO's have even turned our 600cf drivers away, refuseing the loads as the amount of work stored is causeing health & safety issues.
Never seen it this bad in my 30 years service, some of our managers dont seem to be bothered about it,mind you with our mail center merging with 2 others many of them know they'll be on their way out of the door soon, some were hoping for buy downs, but i think Royal Mail will use the mail center cull/merge to cut managers and therefore reduce the wage bill.

We have dozens of yorks sitting but the drivers leave before taking them all, so just send a lorry to us and you can have them :-)disheartened wrote:The Yorkie problem still has'nt improved, the big problem is our mail center(Watford)has so much work going through the system at the moment, all the DO's it feeds can not keep up,therefore work is sitting in the yorks at many DO's,some DO's have even turned our 600cf drivers away, refuseing the loads as the amount of work stored is causeing health & safety issues.

Re: Yorkies!!!!!
It's probably down to time constraints, often another driver will be waiting at the the MC to take the same van somewhere else. Another thing that seems to be running out, boxes. I've seen mech staff having to hunt around the MC for boxes a lot, with walk sequencing the mech staff need a lot more boxes. Flats are real busy and probably need a load of boxes too.DGP1 wrote:We have dozens of yorks sitting but the drivers leave before taking them all, so just send a lorry to us and you can have them :-)disheartened wrote:The Yorkie problem still has'nt improved, the big problem is our mail center(Watford)has so much work going through the system at the moment, all the DO's it feeds can not keep up,therefore work is sitting in the yorks at many DO's,some DO's have even turned our 600cf drivers away, refuseing the loads as the amount of work stored is causeing health & safety issues.

Re: Yorkies!!!!!
Most of our yorks are filled with perstops too and all our flats came down in bags from Christmas, NIMC just sends these things out no matter what.SpacePhoenix wrote:It's probably down to time constraints, often another driver will be waiting at the the MC to take the same van somewhere else.
