Anyone know the actual answer to this?
As far as i'm aware as long as he is still in receipt of sick pay...he will still get his bonus.
But if memory serves me right i thought that if you go sick then they can clawback the supplement or at least part of it as you have not worked the xmas pressure weeks.
The supplement is based as far as i know on xmas pressure weeks only.

That's for normal sick,so i'm guessing an AOD will still lose the supplement and you just have to argue it later.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I have personally never set eyes on any agreement between the CWU and Royal Mail that allows the clawback of the Christmas Supplement due to normal sick absence.
That doesn't mean it doesn't exist but i've never seen it or heard of it being used.

If you read the letter it only applies to sick absence-no pay, sick absence-pension rate and sick absence-half pay.
As i said if you are in receipt of full sick pay you will get the full supplement.

i'm fairly certain that you have to attend for the full xmas pressure period to recieve the full bonus so if you are off sick for part or all of the period you will get a percentage based on how long you attend.
who the hell invests £2 billion into a servic and makes it worse?????????????
you really couldn't make it up!!!!!!!!!!!

I think, but don't quote me. :chuckle ...that sick absence-pension rate is payable in certain circumstances after 1 year on the sick and it's equivalent to the pension that a member of staff would receive if they qualified for retirement on medical grounds....or something like that. :nervous

That's what i was saying then i kinda had to change my mind with new evidence which may now turn out to be false so i think i'm back to being right again, but then again i coulda been wrong in the 1st place anyway. :arrrghhh :d'oh!

What you on about? :chuckle
These are the following reasons for deductions from the Christmas supplement...
If you are receiving NO pay.
If you are receiving sick pay at pension rate.
If you are receiving sick pay at half pay rate.
if you take industrial action.
That is all.
If you are sick and you receive sick pay at full rate you will receive your full Christmas Supplement.

Whatever your pension would be i'd imagine...but most employers cap it at half pay...whichever is lowest.
