ROYAL Mail has apologised to people living in Fillingham after they received just one delivery in ten days.

The Echo was contacted by disgruntled residents in the village, near Gainsborough, who said the post had come only once since the cold spell hit.

And while the first delivery made it through was on Monday after the worst of the snowy conditions were over, there were no more until Thursday.

A Royal Mail spokesman said: "We apologise to customers in Fillingham whose mail may have been delayed as a result of the continued bad weather.


"We are continuing to deliver to the majority of addresses across northern Lincolnshire, however, in some cases it has simply not been possible to do so because of the weather.

"A range of measures have been put in place to ensure deliveries reach people as quickly as possible. Deliveries to Fillingham went out yesterday."

The Echo previously reported on December 4 how Royal Mail had apologised to customers for long delays in getting their post.

And some boxes around the county being taped up after they became too full.
