Re: Are we misselling Tracked products?
Tracked items are the future, take my word for it.
There will be a standard tracked and then add on services, prior to 9, prior to 1, signed for, each of which will cost more..............gone the SD and Recorded, a single service tailored to the customers needs both business and domestic..................and more to the point trackable, just like our competitors and ready for our new owners.

They are here, and i don't think specials or recordeds will be disappearing any time soon though.dvbuk55 wrote:Tracked items are the future
I understand where your coming from with the whole idea of tracking with add ons and it would make the product a whole instead of separate products which it is at present. It would also make it simplier for the customer to purchase, instead of alot of packages, only for the customer to pick the wrong one.
If they introduce smaller pda's for each postie the idea of pen to paper for a signature would be gone, but this would probably be to costly and royal mail needs to be in the 21st century instead of backtracking to the last.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Yep fully agree - More work is not the problem bring it on. Its the organisation and (mis) management that continually fails and as they say that ain't our problem, people on higher wages get paid to worry about that.POSTMAN wrote:Tracked will probably be bigger than reg in time if it isn't already, bring it on,the more fecking about we have to do the better.

At the mo ours are running about equal with 300 of each per day.................it will get worse or better whichever way you look at it. Fortunately our extra PDAs arrived just in time..................we only had 7 PDAs for 14 Park and Loop vehicles with a daily total of around 130 tracked, that took some juggling at times,.....................we now have 52 for 26 vehicles, 1 per person.POSTMAN wrote:Tracked will probably be bigger than reg in time if it isn't already, bring it on,the more fecking about we have to do the better.

Re: Are we misselling Tracked products?
There already seems to me more Tracked then specials (pre xmas pressure), atm with Xmas pressure there seems to be way more tracked then there is specials by a long way (probably 90%+ of it is Amazon) once other bigger companies (play.com. etc) start to use it and the general public is allowed to use it then I think the current recored delivery product will be gone. Specials will always be around though they might changed the name of the product so say "Tracked High Value".
It can only be a matter of time before they issue all MCs with guns which can handle both Tracked and specials all on the same system. Do tracked items get handled by the same locker that deals with specials at DOs?

Re: Are we misselling Tracked products?
Well we handle the tracked and specials in the locker, but it isn't really necessary as long as they are received as ready to deliver anyone can do it. The tracking guns for the specials are a joke and it is time they integrated the system.SpacePhoenix wrote:There already seems to me more Tracked then specials (pre xmas pressure), atm with Xmas pressure there seems to be way more tracked then there is specials by a long way (probably 90%+ of it is Amazon) once other bigger companies (play.com. etc) start to use it and the general public is allowed to use it then I think the current recored delivery product will be gone. Tracked do not get handled by the locker in my D.O....there are way too many and far too bulky.SpacePhoenix wrote: Do tracked items get handled by the same locker that deals with specials at DOs?
They are scanned on the floor and distributed directly to the duties.

Re: Are we misselling Tracked products?
We only scan as ready for delivery............then put them out to the floor to be assigned to the correct walk......as you say they are far too bulky for the locker, yesterday we had about 6 or 7 Yorks full.............don't know about today and tomorrow because I am on leavefishtank wrote:Tracked do not get handled by the locker in my D.O....there are way too many and far too bulky.SpacePhoenix wrote: Do tracked items get handled by the same locker that deals with specials at DOs?
