The mail centre is to close in 2015
I do not think much of a man who is not wiser today than he was yesterday.

Yes it will probably be statutory only unless we can defeat privatisation.

2010 and beyond states the following

Page 10 – last paragraph states “if a redundancy exercise at a site means that employees offered voluntary redundancy are released on dates straddling a change in terms, all such employees will receive terms applicable at the beginning of the exercise”  In essence this will mean Hull staff via the current agreement should be covered.  Logically they will be offered the opportunity to go to either Leeds or Sheffield at the time the other units merge in as well as at the point of closure, and we will be covering this off in communications.

Page 12 – Royal Mail and the CWU will jointly review these elements of the agreement (VR and ETE) in October 2012 in light of the financial position of the company and the progress of the transformation programme.”  Clearly this is a standard comment in an agreement with set dates and we will obviously monitor and input to this position.

At present we are working on the understanding that the people in Hull will be covered by the agreement, unless advised otherwise when the agreement is reviewed.
