personally I'd like to see as many as possible and it seems quite reasonable to do 10 lots for £20  and I'm sure that it will help to safeguard everybodies job in the long run.
 perhaps thats unfair as I don't have to do them.
More seriously I would like to see them incorporated into the workload IF/ WHEN these walksorting machines come in to save the jobs as they could remove a significant amount of IPS time if rumours are to be believed which preping D2D could replace

Door to dustbins are a nuisance, but dosh is handy.

No obligation to work past your time, so why worry? Just pocket the money and let the managers worry about getting your round done when you lose time due to door to dustbin volumes increasing!

  Latest on d2d if I've read it right, seems to be :- To achieve the 350 Mill in savings amongst lots of other measures there will be no payment for D2D. So we are going to have to deliver them for nowt :d'oh! :d'oh! :so there :so there :so there

I dont do mine, another dude in my office does about a dozen different walks D2Ds makes himself quite a few bob from it,if i did mine
would struggle coz only got 4 places for bag drops and send out 4 bags full most days + one i carry out with me,even 20% D2Ds spread
over walk would increase my amount of bags but wouldn't have enough bag drops,my manager said i need to find more bag drops
am really going to go out of my way to find extra bag drops so i can take more bags, and my D2Ds

:Very Happy that's wot most people are here on the iow. well in my office. they just put them on the return york in handfuls each day. they get sent back daily so by the end of the week 50% of people have off loaded wot they don't deliver on to the returns centre. no one checks they are laughing up there sleeves. very dishonest but the rural duties are over 5.5 hours long. its a joke. increasing them just means we are out longer

It should be optional. Personally, I wouldn't give a fig if d2ds were to disappear forever. :dance

Our manager came out with something this week in our 'Team talk' about the possibility of a bunch of the D2Ds being shrink-wrapped together (allegedly a suggestion by a postie). I think Rocky mentioned something similar earlier. Sounds a bit daft to me as;
1. Who's covering the shrink-wrapping costs?
2. What about the daft shapes and sizes we get? Free pens, etc. Imagine the shape of the bundles you'd get?!
3. When did all your D2Ds turn up at the same time. In our office, it's not unusual (as Tom Jones would have it) for them to turn up on the Fri/Sat. What machines could shrinkwrap so many items so quickly?
As for the payment, we haven't seen an increase in over ten years now, is it? Surely they are charging more for the service by now so why are we not seeing any of it?
So many questions...why?

For god sake Pokey so many bloody questions and on a Sat nite an all

1/2 There's a machine out there that does it,all believe me,apparently makes the tea as well,1 lump or 2. :cuppa
3 Ours always does well almost,if they're late then we don't do them if we don't want to,but that's very rare.
No number/Because they are tight fisted f**k pigs who have been screwing us over.

On a serious note,D2D like mailsort now is our friend,in the present climate we need all the work we can get,but we want a half decent wedge to go with it,which is a little stumbling block it seems

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

My view on door to door is that I'll deliver as many items as they like as long as I get paid for them. There is no way that I am going to deliver 5 lots for the price of 3!

Sorry mate , but it might not be even that generous. The slime have moved from the deliver 5 and get paid for 3, to putting all 5
items into one envelope thereby turning 5 items into 1, and paying us for just the 1. :mad :mad :mad

Wait and see , it's only a matter of time. :mad :mad :mad

on the IOW we where told at a WTL session that our office was delivering 84% of all d2d that came into the office, the line manager then told us that another office on the island was delivering 123%!!! when questioned by a workmate if that could be mathematically correct he said that these were the figures he had been given so they must be right!!!!!!!!!!

You could'nt make it up

We should have the option to take them or not. I'd rather not take them as it's too much hassle prepping them and payment is not always forthcoming on wage slips. Sometimes not all on frame by Mon, and as we've not had an increase in D2D payments since I started at RM in 1995, I think RM are shafting us. :mad
