I enjoy seeing that RM are paying for many peoples journey into work............they must all work in MCs (just to make sure they can still get their 60 minute break)
And now to wait for the bite from MC staff

In nice weather, 50 mins. In the snow... 3.5 hours!NewPostieUK wrote:In nice weather 20 mins drive, in the snow 90 mins.
I'm working in an office 28 miles away at the moment, all down country lanes and over a mountain to get there.
Does this rag smell of chloroform to you?

20 minute bus ride (only once an hour though - and often unreliable) - today - no bus - so walked it (approx 5 miles) -75 minutes in the snow - overtook loads of cars
"We're under model" - oh no we're not - stick your lapse elsewhere ...

Re: how long does it take you to get to work?
10 minutes on the company bike at the moment but when they take them off us in January it will be a 25 minute walk or a 5 minute bus ride assuming the bus turns up. I have been late for work at RM once in over 15 years but I can see that changing soon. I'll miss the bike - a case of Stella just fits nicely in the basket.
We wish to serve - but we will not be servile

Re: how long does it take you to get to work?
I can get to work in a little over 5 mins when driving, 10 mins when cycling (in good weather),
unless the yard and street leading to it have been cleared of snow and gritted (very unlikely) i'll have trouble getting my car into the yard,
and theres no way i'm leaving my car on the street as i work nights, and this part of Manchester is more than a little rough
i'll come out to find my car on fire knowing my luck.
never cycled in the snow, not looking forward to it, the temp guage said minus 4 on the way in the other night, and thats without snow and windchill
