Was it fair that postie A was taking home £50/week more than postie B when they were both working the same hours?
With the increase in D2D, that wage discrepancy was only going to increase, so imho the delivery supplement is fairer. You don't get more money if you have more packets or Specials.
D2D is now counted in measured workload. This was a CWU goal for ages. Although you and me may be worse off financially, moving D2D into workload is better for everyone.
Would like to add about DTD being measured into the workload as one of your positive points to counter loss of money, the IWT has been run, hours slashed and less people in the office to IPS and prep walks, more DTD to deliver and less time to do so, no means given to deal with the extra wieght as no delivery methods revision for altleast another year.

Finding it hard to see the positves if i'm honest mate :no no

gone wrote:What I wanted to achieve by this poll was, to find out was there enough support to bring in a new union with a bit of back bone.... The cwu got their backbone from jellyfish
If Bob Crow was available on a free transfer then id snap
him up,but hes not so i cant.

The sad fact is we got the union we deserve and we got the deal we deserve because a majority of members didnt
even f***ing vote, most members just pay their fees and have a leave it to the experts attitude, which has resulted in the 'experts' paying themselves a 110 grand a year.

I still hope theres some sort of challenge to the leadership of the CWU to at least hold them to account to aspects
of the deal ie the Geo Route/IWT/H&S are not clear and seem to have been dreamed up in an opium den.

Where that challenge comes from and what difference it would make are a good starting point.

gone wrote:Mark here with a big X if you want cwu out.... They do nothing for their members what so ever... The job is a nightmare now thanks to the agreements they continue to get us....

Part timers get £3 for a week of d2d
Inside staff get £20 for d2d and don't deliver any
Van share agreement
Sunday overtime slashed to pieces

The list goes on and on

Here's my X to start things off
In my office there's a huge amount of anger at the CWU. At lot of people lost a lot of money during the strikes and what made it worse was that we had CWU people down almost weekly saying "Comrades, we need to be strong and stand together" etc etc. Its not he first time that the CWU have sold us down the river either. Many are asking what made the CWU roll over so easily when we pretty much had management over a barrel..... doesn't bear thinking about really :(

Yet when it was all said and done what did we get out of it?? nothing! in fact most are in a worse position.

For me the damage done is far far deeper... most people here would tell the CWU to go jump off a cliff before they went on strike again and at the end of the day thats the only bargaining tool we've got. Many people here have left the CWU in protest.

In full agreement, the question is did BT2010 make the transition smooth enough did it set the supplement and increase in basic pay high enough to minimise the amount of mbrs who could possibly be worse off.

True and factual....but you and i know...completely irrelevant.
It's like telling a kid that castor oil is good for them...but it still tastes like s**t and makes you feel sick and the benefits are vague at best.
The union is shedding members, not because of the D2D issue but because it continues it's arrogant "We Know Best" attitude despite the fact that most of the senior decision makers haven't seen a delivery since before the Way Forward Agreement....

D2D into workload is meaningless when you rely on Royal Mail for your traffic figures.
D2D into workload is meaningless if the performance targets from IWT and Georoute are unachievable.
Then it just becomes more "live mail" that you cannot prep in the time allocated.
Then it just becomes more "live mail" that you cannot deliver in the time allocated.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Dont stop paying subs, get a motion to your branch AGM on penalties for national officers. Gtea motion to you branch AGM that will change the rules on how national IR officers report back interact during national level talks.

Use the AGM, submit motions and argue your points to the AGM, simply pulling out has zero effect.

What the point in being a mbr in the first place if you are going to have a hissy fit and quit if something dosent go your way or your not happy with something.

:Applause :Applause Sanity at last. Was beginning to think most posties were brain dead cretins who couldn't even master 'cause and effect'.
For the more cerebrally challenged out there , your employer dictates your terms and conditions ; your union ,which represents your interests, tries to improve those T&C's.
At the end of the day, the direction and performance of your union will directly reflect the amount of effort the membership has invested. Or , what you give is what you get :whistle

Agree with the above up to a point, motion passed at conference to have plain english agreements but as you know they got
Prof Stanley Unwin to draw up the agreement.

If you go through what the union line was before the secret 2010 beyond talks you find they have changed their mind on just about every issue, the only thing that would have made up for this would have been fair and achievable workloads but judging by the negotiated parameters/speeds and 'delivery span as an enabler' then no cigar.

The bad feeling over the agreement seems to be spreading from the so called militant members to local reps to some area reps,if this group of members can organise themselves then things might change but i havnt much faith in my local branch to
go against HQ and think bypassing the union machine must be considered.

But hey ho maybe HQ have let these revisions go ahead knowing they would fail and now they will finally reveal plan B. :Very Happy

So why do inside staff get the payment ?
