Think i'll be taking my 4 legged boy into help with deliveries this year if it gets any worse - My own idea of Park & Poop

DH7,8 AND 9 no deliverys again today but double standards as far as i am concerned,tracked and specials went out even tho the police said only go out if your journey is nessesary.
couldnt go out on park and loop but spls and a few parcels are ok

I still say its to easy to take the easy way out, maybe if people didnt get paid if they didnt turn up for work this country might get back on its feet, to many sickies taken by to many people, oh for the days before health and safety officials, I've walked 3 miles in the snow to get to work when I was younger, bloody kids dont know they're born.

The other year we got sent home because of snow, yet the paper boys got there deliveries done, just a lack of steel from some of our colleagues I'm afraid, wonder if it will be the same after privitisation ?. Remember the days football pitches had the lines cleared of snow and games got played with players in short sleeved shirts, now its gloves and roll necks if the temperature is less then tropical, and we had frost on the inside of the windows when we woke up when I was a boy, we've all gone to soft.

Ah well back to work tomorrow, enjoyed my day off though.

That's a nice"they don't know the're born speech singingpostman however there is one flaw in your logic....
It was unfortunately the ridiculous lack of adherence to Health and Safety regulations and the subsequent huge increase in accidents on duty last year which has led to the overcompensation this year.

Scotland today

How much snow your way according to weather reports they class it as "light snow" south of me and apparently we have had a moderate covering - well its about an inch - our deliveries went out but looking at the news about snowed in roads round Dunblane and major A roads being closed its not that surprising some deliveries in Scotland were cancelled.

BTW 3 miles your lightweight -60 miles in three days carrying 80 pounds in snow and rain - but there was a good reason for doing it pushing paper through holes is not worth the risk of a sprained ankle never mind anything else.

I walked 5 miles to work on Saturday, at 5.30 in the morning. I know some people will say it's brainless and stupid but I've always been the kind of person who would rather do the job than ring in and sit on my arse whilst my workmates get on with it. I know they won't return the favour and I know the managers don't care whether you live 5 miles or 5 metres from the D.O. - I'm not so stupid that I expect loyalty in return. But I'm not bothered, I still retain an affinity with the people on my present round and I guess I'm silly enough to value that.

Dom would let us out in the bad weather to deliver earlier in the year but we had to still struggle in otherwise it was classed as an absence. A lot of people including the Dom went to closer offices because it was so bad.

to jockstrap,the problem wasnt us pussies not wanting to go out on delivery.it was the mail centre who could only get half a york of mail to us between 5.00am and 9.00am

Today was no better or worse than Saturday, yet in the NE we cancelled deliveries.
