So barrow has a load of toss*** who still think '''good will'' is the answer ? time they wised up as royal fail don't intend to repay them with a reciprocal bout of ''good will'''

Hey we've all got to tighten our belts............and work that little bit harder, remember the Light Infantry march at 120 paces a minute as opposed to 80............... apparently the gobs have now taken to taping the chatter and playing it back at one and a half times normal speed, I'm not sure if that counts as increased productivity :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

Probably the same productivity but certainly an increase in the volume of Image

Why did you remove your post skull there was nothing wrong with it.
You are of course right it is up to the individual if they work overtime...but it does mask the problems a little.
So at the end of the day if it takes managers longer to fix the problems some of that responsibility has to fall on the members.I'm not saying they are right or wrong to do it as long as they are aware of the possible consequences of their actions.....and don't bitch too much about those consequences.

Arent they supposed to be making savings?
So long as they're paying people to do the overtime. Rather than pressuring them into working past their time for free (as happens in some places). Then it's as good a tactic as any, getting as much overtime in as possible. The Manager won't get his/her bonus, if the stafing costs double, instead of dropping. :hmmmm

Obviously, they'll expect "teething problems". But if it goes on long term, then it should work in your favour. But I can't be certain. Only time will tell, if it works or not.

Overtime is part of the RML strategy of flex up.

To flex up you need to take plenty of OPG hours out of the equasion and then hope that the hours going in on O/T are less than the hours removed. If that happens RML have got savings and all hours worked being all hours paid.

The problem is flex up was not mentioned in BT 2010 therefore its a potential disaster in the making.

It is Daz because unfortunately neither the union or management bothered to consult the membership on their feelings about or capability to perform flexing.
It is in my humble opinion a harassment nightmare that will come back to haunt all of us and by us i don't mean those who talk for a living.
For a union that is supposed to be championing a liveable basic wage and achievable workloads it is nothing but an embarrassment to us all.

The Barrow office aren't a load of toss*** , they are people who are on a couple of quid above the minimum wage with families to feed and bills to pay . Dictating that people should not work overtime is as bad as RM intimidating people to work over. Working overtime is papering over the cracks but I'm sure if overtime starts getting restricted and staff start cutting off the Barrow office will fall apart within days .

smokerjim wrote:bobbla, I think what Postman is trying to ask is for positive examples revisions....and posting 2 posts that are totally negative AND add nothing to any level of debate are worse than useless, and imho Postman should consider deleting them.

Think of Postman's request as a sort of scientific method....the only way to prove if RM & the CWU are right or wrong to be pursuing the course they are, is to get the full facts, without prejuding any results....if it happens that it fails everywhere, we can say "We told you so!", but if it works in 50, 40, 20, 10, 5% of offices, or only in rural offices, or only urban offices or only small, or big offices, or whatever correlation there is ( if any ) then we can look at those positive results, consider our options and what we want, and respond to RM & CWU accordingly...sort of "It works in some places, but everywhere else, YOU have f*cked it up by imposing national standards that don't take account of local conditions or local agreements."

If you got bored reading the above, just please remember to think about what you type, and check it adds something to a debate before you hit "submit"
ok thats fine.. so when i say to you that being forced to work beyond your time till 4 or 5 p.m way beyond your finishing time. bullied to work over this time at speeds beyond phyical abilily... then when you work to this time, then not being paid for it.............. thats o.k,,, delivery staff are being tortured,, its fact...

your o/t will be covered with false accounting so it will be deemed a success, the only way to show it will not work is to stop doing the o/t for a while then the true picture will become evident and has to be flaged to the idiots who purportedly run the company, I don't and will not do any o/t yes i can afford not too but it goes against my beliefs that if the work is there employ more staff to do it :d'oh!

I deleted it because its off topic - we have one about one not working why didn't you post it in there.

Postman wants feed back on ones working in here and ones not working in the other - its not difficult is it.

PS you agreed to posts being deleted and or amended when you joined don't bleat about it when you go off topic.
