Re: xmas bonus
Definitely agree with that - the christmas attendance allowance (not a bonus!!)should be paid pro rata to all hours worked, not just basic contract hours - a lot of our office part timers work up to and over 40 per week to cover shortages and should be recognised for their efforts.Aprilaydee wrote:Yup! Especially those on 10 hour contracts, working 40 hours a week. Worked same hours as a F/T but only gets 1/4 of the bonus?!
Should be based on the hours you've worked thru the year to a maximum of £100 rather than your contract. Although, in my case, it'd be the same outcome haha

Wasn't there something official on it on here somewhere.
Not if their hours are just being made up by SA or OT.

Re: xmas bonus
The rules system for bonus stink. I mean what happens if a postman got bitten by a dog. He/She won't be able to work for a week.
I think we should get 250 pounds bonus tax free each Christmas.

Re: xmas bonus
The Xmas bonus was originally a share of the savings made in each office at Xmas, by cutting hours (OT and casuals), under the Improved Working Methods Agreement. At my MC it was over £300 IIRC. It varied from office to office and some offices didn't get anything.Carew wrote:I think we should get 250 pounds bonus tax free each Christmas.
The Way Forward Agreement 2000 changed it to £100 for every office, and it hasn't been increased since then.

Re: xmas bonus
At my old office we never used to get anything. The MC's did, I think it was gaged on how much stuff was coming through a unit and a small DO of about 40 did'nt even qualify.

Re: xmas bonus
If you are working 40hrs/week over the xmas pressure - yes you will.
But the xmas bonus is specific to working the xmas pressure. Working your arse off over the year doesn't entitle you to the xmas bonus.

Re: xmas bonus
I doubt I'll get the full bonus this year. I'm due to go back in 10 days and my rehab plan is for 4 hours a day for the 1st week and 6 for xmas week. Oh well ya can't win them all
