I would say once walk sequencing comes in and we receive our d2d's already prepped there will be a big improvement .
We really need to start getting out of the office earlier because this 4.5 hrs to complete a park and loop round is a joke .

In the Barrow-in- Furness area we are not allowed to be away from our light weight trolleys for more than 1 minute and no more than 15 metres in distance .If this is not possible we have to empty the mail from the trolley and I presume carry it with you . The trolley should never be out of sight , so in theory we should be walking up customers paths backwards with our eyes on the trolley . I presume if I have got a packet or a signiture requird for a customer and it hasn't been dealt with in that 1 minute I can just bomb them off and return to my trolley . When are we getting our 1 minute timers I don't know . Who ever thought of these security ideas for the trolleys really needs to be checked to see if there is any sign of intelligence .

A positive , I think the trolleys are so much better than carrying the weight on my back but they are time consuming .

Have you watched the How To Plan Your WAlk video . I would sell my house , move away from my family and take the kids out of their school to get that duty . It's got no gates , steps , it' flat walking , perfect parking , no traffic , perfectly sized and horizontel letter boxes , customers who answer the door in .50 of a second . Then at the end you even have time to do a interim service on the van . Did Royal Mail resurrect joseph Goebbels the Nazi propaganga minister to direct and edit this video .

Yesterday it was day 4 of revision and my stress levels have dropped and am now finding everything so amusing . I've got over the death of Royal Mail and a well respected service as finally been destroyed . This is a hidden agenda by the powers that be to make Royal Mail look that bad that pravatisation is the only option .If it is sold off it will have been knocked so low that the only way is up and privatisation was a big success . Postcom have done nothing but knock Royal Mail down in the last ten years then all of a sudden their lifting the restrictions so Royal Mail can charge the likes of DHL and TNT proper competative rates , what a coincidence .

The big revision for delivery methods/sequenced mail/39 hour week/geo route in early 2012 is the one to worry about as that truly will be MAJOR change.
think we,ll be privatised by then though. the job is cattle trucked :

The problem with the first part is that you will face far more cuts to your indoor time when you get your sequenced mail.
The problem with the second is...when exactly do you think this might happen?....when your walk gets 6...when your office gets 6...when your area gets 6....when the whole country gets 6...or never.

At the end of the day I can only go as fast as I can go , if I want to work overtime I will , if I want to cut off I will . This job as evolved over the years and as got about as efficiant as it can get . Letting posties go home a little early , I can't see there being a greater incentive to get the job done and as long as it's done right .

It's not the incentives that worry me skull...Royal Mail don't do incentives...they are much more likely to take the harassment route as managers come under more and more pressure to achieve the savings they have promised.
The next 12 months will be the worst for bullying in this company's history...that's a promise and you can bookmark this thread and come back to next November.

The one thing about the Barrow office the majority of the park and loop dutys are getting back at about the same time , beween 3 and 4 so management have to recognise there is a problem . We're into day 5 of revision and I can only see a few minutes hear and there where we can improve and we have D2D's , all the packets and tracked items to add to this in the near future . In a couple of weeks any manager can come out with me and point me in the right direction where I'm going wrong . On Wednesday the weather was terrible and surely they can't think I stayed out in that deliberately for the sake of about £10.00 in my arse pocket . I'm willing to work overtime to clear but if any harrasment starts about booking overtime then I will just start cutting off .

:chuckle The cutting off is when the harassment begins, the docket won't worry them they'll explain that away easily enough, sick, holiday, traffic, fiddling the figures.

Yep, totally in agreement on this.

One of the main reasons for striking last year, for me anyway, was in protest at the B&H culture that has become prevalent in all RM management tiers.

CWU fought hard to "win" us all a delivery supplement  , and announced a new era of working together, no more "them and us" etc.

The only people working together are CWU HQ and upper echelons, and RM.

It seems to be even more "them and us" than it ever has been, certainly worse than before the strikes last year even, and it IS gonna get a whole lot worse.

In my working life I've had 5 jobs and posties are the hardest working , i've worked with . I honestly think that the guys at the top and people like Vince Cable are under the impression that we have about 12 items to deliver in 4 hours and we are just lazy moaning sods .
I must admit before I started on the post , I thought that one bag is all that you had to deliver , I couldn't believe it the first time I went out on my own ,I was in a state of shock for at least a week .

Revision is failing all over the Uk and this is with employee good will to give it ago , god knows what will happen when the novelty wears off . So lets hope it gets cancelled and we can revert back to some type of normality and go out and deliver with half a smile on our faces .

Agree 100%
Bullying and harrasment already started.
This weeks gems. "If you take it out you have to deliver it","You have 10 hours to deliver that bit of mail, why cant you do it ?" etc.
Its only going to get worse.
I now feel I have been sold down the river by my own union.
I new it was going to be bad but never this bad.
It wants a walkout and to stayout until royal mail admits the dutys are too big and stops trying to force us into an imposible to do system.
