I would like to thank the person for prepping my walk........over 30 miss-sorts, only marked up some of the packages and didn't do any D2D's. House number 120 with number 12 in pile etc

Planned around 1 bag drop off point, only to be told after I had bagged up they didn't have the key, so only 5mins away but when walking to and from what should have been 5 times would equate to 50mins downtime(left 2 n half bags tho so only had approx 20 mins wasted)

No time to read the 'walk' folder-1st time on that walk
Every f*cker seemed to be out today so plenty of returned parcels
Got told to make own way back to depot because I cut-off....hmmmm, if I knew the area, bus route etc had been told in my interview this would be expected of me, I would have told them where to go. So you use your OWN PHONE, if you use your own car(I don't) you pay your OWN petrol, OWN bus. insurance, if you get a bus back you pay too???

To top it off, the manager did pick me up, but told me he wasn't very happy with what I had left. Told him that might be a 3.5 hour walk to a experienced postman who knows the route. I am new, don't know the walk, drop offs etc and that it is busier than when they did the 'timed walk'. Also as I was half bagged up, I had a full bag parcels n flats dropped off to me.......not my fault some idiot put it in the wrong frame/frame is misprinted. But yeh, silly old me has to go through sorted mail and waste yet more time.

Left it by telling the manager I wasn''t very happy with his planning

So no extension to my 3 1/2 month contract

This sort of thing is and has been the normal s**t treatment dished out to spares, floaters & any poor unfortunate who finds themselves in an unfamiliar office. This shoddy practice by management is totally unacceptable. Its the old attitude of 'just get it out of the office so we show CLEAR!'.
Gone are the days when everyone had a weeks training then two weeks shadowing an experienced postie.
Even experienced guys get s**t on in the same way, like those who went part time and experience the 'missort' problem that you have. This only happens because of two things.
1 is the pressu we are ALL under and,
2 No one cares any more, especially about the receiving customer from the business point of view beause they don't pay anything towards the cost of getting it delivered.
Delivery is the loss making ebd of the business, However, those receiving customers are also POSTING customers tomorrow. If Royal Mail keeps putting back deliveries to later starts & finishes, then these are the very people who will use competitors, who will hav done half a days work before we even have our sequenced mail in the office. :hmmmm :no no

I wouldn't tell the bosses that because they will give you more to do. What they will leave out of the equation is the fact that you can only carry 16Kgs max in 1st & 2nd bag and that you will need more drop bags and going back & forth to get them costs time.Add to that, sometimes when you get to the drop boxes the bloody things are empty, so your left standing there like a lemon waiting for the driver to arrive. :Sick
Oh believe me the bosses already know, that's why there are more than 1,000 delivery points! Bugger to throw in. My bag drops are both shops, good apart from Saturdays when one is shut and the other closes early.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

I know that this is a common sentiment BUT thinking that a manager thats been in the job for 20+ years can't look at the workload and NOT know that you will finish early is just plain crazy!
Oh believe me i've yet to finish early on this round. It's just strange, no matter how heavy it gets you know a bag won't take longer than 20mins max.

First letter 10am last letter 1.50pm. A lot of catalogues but not a bad day overall. Better than yesterday when I ran out of p739's halfway round.

Came in and it seemed to be quite light but a lot of the work hadn't been put out. Everything went quite slowly and didn't finish all my prep till 8:20. Ended up putting the first letter through the door at around 10:15. It was heavyish but not horrendous. Took my time but didn't go slowly. Felt good all the way round and ended up putting the last letter through at around 1:15pm. went to a local cafe for lunch which I do around once a fortnight. Got back to the office around 2:10pm EVERYONE was gone!

Rest day tomorrow :)

Considering we are not on xmas pressure yet, simply horrendous. Didn't finish the IPS untill nearly 10am. Lapsing on top of my duty. I know, before anyone says it, "you only have to work your hours" etc etc, but the hassle you get in our office, you waste about 30 mins arguing the toss, and it's soooooo depressing.

Got another frakking redirection added to my epic pile of redirections today. Why can't people just stay in the same house their whole lives? Most of the other people on my walk manage to obey that simple rule - they literally never leave.
