If Christmas day falls as your day off that week...tough...you dont get it back???

That means, for that week, everybody gets paid the same BUT some have to work 4 days for it and others have to work 5 days for the same pay????

How can that be right???

that`s exactly how it appears to be. P*ssed me off because I`m due my 1 in 6 sats off on new years day so I have to work three days instead of two that week. I`ve asked about it and it would appear xmas/new years day are viewed as a freebie for the majority and the union don`t give a sh*t about the rest of us.

Ive had a right result works out that ive 5 days off as my rest day is on the Wednesday

Why have you put up with having no Saturdays off in a year? Despite being a "reserve" you are entitled to 1 in 6 long weekends (which may change according to your "local agreement" for a "national company"... Yes this stuff is amazing, I bet Boots; McDonalds etc. all have store agreements too!), just like a "walk holder" or a "day off cover."

You need to get this sorted if it bothers you with your lino and your union rep (if you have joined)!

I thought it was the other way around, that people with monday off didn't get it back despite being a bank holiday, but did get xmas back - that's how it worked in my office!

I thought it was the other way around, that people with monday off didn't get it back despite being a bank holiday, but did get xmas back - that's how it worked in my office!

3 Attendance and resourcing arrangements

3.1 Postcomm has agreed Saturday 26 December 2009 is a no service day. There will be no USO collections and deliveries that day, Monday 28 December will be the bank holiday.

3.2 People normally scheduled to work on Saturday will not attend on 26 December and will not be required to make up the hours (i.e. there will be no claw back).

3.3 Rest days will apply in line with normal year round arrangements. Attendances may be varied by local agreement to take account of workload forecasts and service requirements. Where workload requires people can volunteer to work their normal rest day in return for a day in lieu or scheduled attendance. People required to work an additional attendance on a bank holiday, will be paid overtime or credited a day’s holiday in lieu. When their rest day falls on a bank holiday (not Saturday 26), people will receive an additional day holiday (including those working ‘a week off in six’).

HQ ARE pursuing this issue so Sat off OPGs may find at a later date they do credited witha day on their annual leave.

It did not become a sticking point for Xmas agreement as everyone whose day off is SAT MON TUE over the period gets their day off with no claw back. Therefore the PEC agreed to the officers Dave Ward Bob Gibson and Phil Browne( in a acting capacity) pursuing it as a stand alone issue.
