WTF Are you guys on!!

Do you know what,i realise that there is some pressure on the Management from above,but it doesn't mean they have to act
like a bunch of c***s.
It seems that when these guys take off the Blue Shirt they turn into arrogant Monsters,hell bent on making our lives a misery.
What makes them think that we're something that they'd find on the bottom of their shoe?
It's incredible the amount of s**t i've seen these guys give out and talk.

If you've read my Diary you'll know that after 2-1/2 years we've now finally got our Pouch Boxes,but we still haven't been given the keys for them a week and a half later.
I've asked me other Manager(Weasel) all week about them,he seems to be turning a blind eye about it with the "i don't know what's going on"or"where they are" bollocks routine.
He's got issues with the main Manager(Happy)summin bout him being lazy and always in his office on his Comp,or some crap like that.
I asked the main man what the score was and he told me he hadn't had time to do any labeling up and that they still had
to be tested yet.

When i complained about it he told me........
"Well you've waited 2-1/2 years for 'em so another couple of weeks wont hurt"
"It aint my job to do them,do them yourself if you want to"

We're walking past the blasted things weighed up with work.
He's now off on holiday for 2 weeks,i found out later on he searched for it online in his office all week!!

Weasel's going to do them now,well if he can find them,or if he's got the time.
My Rep's not happy,he'll throw our Xmas arrangements into chaos if it doesn't get sorted.

It's just one piss take after another.

Like i said,you couldn't make it up.

We had a new female manager join my office just after last christmas. She was wonderfully helpful and a very nice lady, only she had never worked for RM before so didn't have a clue how the job worked nor did she know the local area because she lived many miles away.
Once she was asked by the big boss to throw off a walk. It was a heavy day, and never having done it before, it took about 6 hours for her to prep the walk completely. Unfortunately she was left handed and had put in all the letter backwards in the frame. When the postman who agreed to deliver the walk for overtime came back to the office he had to pull out all the mail from the frame and start again.

Although it's pretty comical looking back, stories like that are typical of Management.

well the DOM can be a bit of hard work but the guys running the floor are great, could not be more down to earth and ready to sort out problems.

Hi.

Just joined the website. I worked for RM for about 4 years and worked in everything from frontline delivery management upto working into the management board, Adam Crozier et al.

I got an amazing insight in a short space of time and wherever I was in the company people always referred to if only 'they'

I am also left-handed and had the unfortunate mistake of throwing up a walk the wrong way round soon after starting.

Frontline management in my mind was the hardest and possibly least rewarding job in terms of salary to hours, personal risk and general mental stress.

However, I also had my best time doing it and worked with some cracking postmen, and also with some foul disgusting postmen as well.

When you are a frontline manager you get caught between a postman's demands to do their job and the pressure of getting things done for nothing from above. Unless you have a true leader as your DOM it is a thankless task. Attempting to do what's in the interest of our customers requires time and patience. If your boss is only interested in clearing the floor each day, you become a supervisor and not a manager. This started happening to me and my behaviour become more autocratic and I didn't like that. FOrtunately for me I had a way out, but most frontline manager's don't have a choice.

Next time just remember we all work for the same company, and we draw our salaries from the same pot. We are all human beings, but I appreciate it is difficult to see that early in the morning or late at night when the pressure is on.
