tomangoe wrote:why all the worry about wilful delay and stuff mounting up? Surely that's the whole point.I know it goes against the grain for most of us to upset our customers but unless they start aking where stuff is,no one will be interested. Most of my customers don't even know we're on strike! I haven't delivered any packets on my walk for a week now and I've just got around to the flats after only doing letters all week. The Dom said prep what you can up to your time then everyone out so no cutting off or overtime-suits me! It's been the easiest week for a long time.Today no packets got sorted at all or delivered by drivers on our division and we didn't sort todays mail until after we'd prepped and tied up,so todays mail may go tommorrow! YES let it keep piling up ,let the public be affected, let them start moaning to the papers and the Government then they might intervene and sort Leighton and Crozier out!
BUT WILFUL DELAY OF MAIL IS UNLAWFUL AND AS SUCH MANAGEMENT SHOULD BE UP FOR THE CHOP! then perhaps the press will take note and government will intervene. If it was one of us we'd have been sacked before now ! :lfo :cfo
i agree with both points royal mail is helping the union out here its forcing people to work to there 318 when told by DUM this morning that there would be no claims for ext dly accepted today i asked the question does that apply to everyone was told that the 4 guys who came in yesterday could claim noone else

we nearly had a riot he soon changed his mind and banned ext dly for everyone
its disgusting that they have made this decision and i reckon someone should look into the legality of it
but like i said its pissed off the guys and made them work there 318 therefore creating a huge mail mountain
i also am a rural driver who has told all my customers that RM are not paying O/T today so they are lucky but they wont be getting any mail tomorrow as DUM informed all the guys who cutoff to make sure they deliver the area were mail was brought back from tomorrow so i imagine there be more cutoffs tomorrow just the begining of the round rather than the end
and will make sure the customers who didnt get there mail today will be told why

:lfo :cfo :lfo :cfo :lfo :cfo
these 2 should be sacked for wilful delay of the mail
Don't know about sacked but shot would be more appropriate !!!!! as should the scum that came in !!!

Ok found it its secdtions 58 and 68 of the post office act 1953 that states as follows:-
Sections 58 and 68 of the Post Office Act 1953 make it an offence, punishable by a fine and imprisonment for employees of the Post Office wilfully to delay or omit to deliver packets and messages, and for any person to solicit or endeavour to procure another person to commit such an offence.
I find the management guilty my lord ! :lfo :cfo

willful delay

Post by angryanderz »

hi i am a driver in yorkshire and the other day i was unable to complete my parcels, when i asked my manager what was going to happen with them,he said QUOTE "leave them till tommorrow" put his coat on and went home. isn't that my manager intentionally delaying mail????.surely if i am up to my hours and don't want to work over,he has a duty to see them parcels are delivered as majority were 1st class. its a f***ing joke 1 rule for them and 1 rule for us and it pisses me off!

This happens to me on several occasions angryanderz had a box of flowers last week that had obviously been taken back again and again to the office and died by the smell, brought 'em back why should I have to deal with a quite rightly upset/angry customer who has been let down by Royal Fail's penny/hour pinching :cfo :lfo than me having more work than time to do it in (two collections, packets inbetween). I don't even worry about it now when the screws can call it 'Operational Requirements' whenever it b****y well suits, just a pity the public can't see all the Fifth Class treatment the average oversize packet get unless it is lucky enough to be a Harry Potter book. :arrrghhh

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
