You hit it spot on their, it all boils down to bad management at the end of the day.Even in our office where blokes use their cars they had to wait for their pouches being dropped off because they cut down on the driver duties, ok posties fault for using their cars in the first place but one van driver can't be in 20 places at the same time can he.

Car's

Post by coppertop »

I cannot use my car on delivery as I cycle to work . I do believe in being enviromentaly friendly I do I do. But my personal oppinion is that cars should not be used at all. it only helps the company out and cost's you all the weare and taer of your car.

Walk around all gardens and don't take short cuts.
Don't walk and read at the same time.

drb wrote:If i knew what hardship "efficiency savings" were about to bring three years ago when SDD came in i would
of shouted to the rooftops about how important it was to not use our vehicles.
Now we know automisation is coming why don't we get the message across about how we should have a fresh start
and the implications of what automisation will do.
This is so important in that our full time careers are at stake here.We are not talking about something
way down the line.It will happen in a flash.
Let's get the message across that us 40 somethings will have no place to go once our job is gone. What will we do?
Who will hire us? Believe you me this will happen very quickly.
It will take two weeks to break the habit of using our cars and wash the SDD agreement away once and for all.
It will save careers, hardship's of families and stress.
Any future deals with basic pay will NOT include efficiency deals because it will be hard to take hours out.
Line managers and DOM's are scared of the word "cut off".You know it,i know it.
Let's use forums as this.Forget if your mate is'nt using the vans or the bloke at the next office still uses his car
That's a cop out.
Do something for yourself and your job.Remember this post those of you out there who intend to continue
to use their car.Remember this date.Industrial action or no.We have a new agreement coming through soon no doubt.
I assure you that jobs will go and will do every year.A new agreement requires a new attitude.
Well said, brother. :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause

The fact that some office's are "doing the job properly"is screwing DO's,the mail center i work at has a large delivery section as well and its in meltdown as well........rumour has it RM are going to blitz the office today (Saturday) with Managers/Admin Staff and casuals to try and clear the mess up.

The word needs to be spread and get all DO's working this way, they will run out of managers to send to help out.

No cars on delivery again for "SOME"of us in our office. Manager had to drop us out , didn't have clue where he was going. Got their backs up a bit they have now started saying that when it is light we have to come back to the office to pick up another walk .What do you think about that then?
