Have never heard of the fixed days off 4 day week, not for full timers anyway.
What would be the point?Where has this come from?
Well i had never heard of fixed days off on the 5 day week and my first thought was "what's the point" but you live and learn.
I would imagine the point would be so that some members could get Fri,Sat and Sun off every week...not a bad incentive really.
Would i vote for it?....no because somebody always gets screwed over...i know a couple of offices that are considering versions of it though.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Well ours is one - 25 hour contracts will be working every Thu, Fri and Sat and that gives full timers 1 in 3 Sats off - mind you it gives the 25 hour contracts every Sun, Mon, Tue and Wed and possibly a second job......................I have heard that happens elsewhere. So has the revision been a good thing........well I would have to say by and large it has or should I say will be because it doesn't go live until Monday.
It has created a resign, created new duties, created increased hours, got the weight off the shoulder, ended the use of private vehicles and generally prepared us for the second stage revision when the WSMs arrive by making the office inured as far as possible to any major upheaval next year. I have forecast that this will be the final repick ever, at least until privatisation bites, and then it will be a choice of picking a new contract or the dole.

If everything arrives as it should and if we can get everything sorted this weekend we shouldn't have anything other than the usual teething problems that always occur with the OPALS and IPS when the duties change dramatically. Bearing in mind postman we have had CDVs for more than 2 years already and so the concept isn't new, we will be down to 16 HCT walking duties. The remainder will be vehicle derived.

Yep, we've been told that ours will be 8.30 or 9.00 from our current time of 5.30/6.00. Not that I care anymore, just be able to stay up later at night instead of crashing out at 10pm (9pm on a Friday).
