A Shepton Mallet pensioner has had an allegation that she stole a mail box with her grandson adjourned until November 11.
Rita Elizabeth Witcombe, aged 66, of Queens Road, was due to appear before South Somerset Magistrates charged with the offence which is alleged to have taken place on September 2.
She is charged that, jointly with Karl Witcombe, she stole a post office mail box of a value unknown belonging to Royal Mail at Duchy Road, Shepton Mallet.
Defending solicitor Robin Weelen appeared in the defendant's absence and asked the court for the case to be adjourned as the police were considering whether to give Witcombe a caution for the alleged offence instead of pressing ahead with a prosecution.
The co-defendant had already pleaded guilty to the allegation and had been sentenced by the courts.
The case was adjourned and in the meantime Witcombe was given unconditional bail.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
