As stated before a crap piece of Kit the business has spent tens of millions on nationally.Reducing staff from 10 down to 7 will be a disaster.4 feeders 2 tray loading and 1 lunatic running around 4 lanes the madness never ends. Next weeks exclusive WSSM "Houston We Have A Problem".

what i would like to know is why are their so much letters mixed amongst the flats, does royal mail not understand mixing letters amongst the flats leads to double handling in sorting offices and ends up slowing down the sorting of mail

They're running whatever they can through them otherwise they don't get used enough, annoying when your sorting flats in an MC and get a box that is half letters.

Probably not half as much if it happens in a DO. If you sort letters into a flat frame at the same time as flats then invariably when people collect the flats, letters come out of the pile and onto the floor, or if you have loads off plastic wrapped letters then the flats slide of them out of the box frame. So we end up taking any extra letters down to their frame - double handling because of machines you know it makes sense.

could anyone that works on the flat sorting machine around the country,please post to my comment! we seem to work regularly on limited staff,to free some of us up for manual sorting and anything else going.we put manual letters through the machine and then have to work like mad to take them out again on 1 of our lanes,which is not part of our job. and we walksort at our mail centre and have to sort on the conveyer at the end to 6 selections.again,not part of our job that we signed ourselves up for.i would be pleased to hear from any other mail centre regarding any of the above comments i have made.lastly,1 member of our top 10 people seems to do what the hell he likes alnight and is rarely challenged.he makes out he is a hard worker and isn't at all! does that follow in other mail centres? if so,why have managers that can't pick on the right people.

We have been told that their is trial offices for the FSM to run with 7 staff is this true? What offices are doing this?

we are now down to 8 staff,4 feeders that load and empty cullers,4 on lanes,on late shift the one that deals with mdec reciurcs,manual also has to bag off EMA...more people feeling strains to shoulders ect: because of loading and feeding ...
