To be fair Custard the guy is on a rolling contract and has feck all protection.
It's the guys around him that need to step up...starting with his rep but including all of those spineless gits who could help him out but prefer staring at their shoes instead....everybody knows it's going on but you turn around for support and all you see is people trying not to make eye contact...you know what it's like.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

FFS grow a pair,not you woody,the others.
105 is max, there should be a document or flyer type thing in you office,if their aint put the 105 in and if he wants to conduct you, enjoy the ride.
whats that suppose to mean..?. its ok you banging on saying "grow a pair", its not you who's on a 4 month rolling contract with a manager breathing down your neck reminding you of that fact. i really dont fancy being out of work with xmas so close, my two young boys would be gutted if father christmas couldnt afford to bring them gifts........

well wha do you want people to do?
you moan the trolley weights 135kg and are told the limit is 105
if you wont raise the issue in your DO then who will?
you either raise it(and resist efforts to make you take more) or accept it and struggle on
i totally know where your coming from but try reading the highlighted part again. he wouldnt give a rats if he was to finish me if i decide to make life hard for him....

but nobody is going to stop anything if you dont
you can approach the rep if you have one
perhaps ask them to check and enforce the agreed weights
get them to push the H&S part

edit: you are on a 4 month rolling contract?
how long is your total service?

Pointless reply, you really need to get into that home now...

you could play the health and safety card and ask them for replenishment (which is what they are supposed to do) say that you're willing to complete you're duty safely within the guidelines, the onus is then on them, that's not being unreasonable, give it a try! it shows you're willing if you're scared of keeping your job!

I understand about the four month rolling contract but you could also ask him/her how they feel about being taken for injury because he/she has been negligent and allowed you to take an over weight barrow out,you wont be out of work for christmas but you might be unable to work for a living for the rest of your life if your back/knees/shoulders is ruined for the rest of your natrual then your boys will have to be understanding about your disablity, there are weight markers on your HCT dont go over it if you need bags sent out then tell your manager to sort out a bag drop thats what they are paid for, dont put yourself at risk for a stupid manager.

internet guy, here's what I do.
1. I make up a pouch for a drop about half way round the walk which goes out with the driver.
2. Leave the office with a HCT that never weighs more than 105 Kg.
3. By the time I reach the pouch drop, the trolley is half empty so it still isn't overweight.
Just spilt stain-remover down my shirt. Now how do I get that out?

On the subject of trollys im in a similar position to the OP. Been there nearly a year and use the HCT trolley everyday. Told my manager that the max weight was 105kg for the trolleys but he refutes this, same as he doesnt believe that the trolley should only be used within a 1 mile radius from depot. My walk is at least 6 miles from the depot. I do get dropped of by one of the drivers in one of the standard small vans and this is after me and someone else have lifted the FULL trolley into the van. My back is breaking most days.

Is there anything on here that i could show the manager stating the 105kg Max weight etc?

The 1 mile thing is within reason not in effect until you have you revisions.

The HCT thing should be on your H&S notice board,if it is not it should be.
It may also/should be near your scales and where you record your bag weights.
There should also be the bag weights matrix to hand as well.

For comedy value, refuse to go over 105kg,managers can't do f**k all if you do.
Also put a grievence in,he is going againt RM's H&S policy!!!!!
