Did a bit of overtime. Got paid till 3.05pm. Finished at 3.03pm. I'm the one who's ruining RM, I'd say. Stole two minutes off 'em. Feel completely knackered at present. Am glad I've got some leave coming up in the future. Absorption issue keeps rearing its head. Not sure how us bikeys are going to figure, as we work our 25 hours every week. They're on about absorbing first, then doing our normal duties second, so I'll have to just cut off. I'm not interested in doing over my time. I'm finishing at 1.30-1.45 (last letter) quite often on heavier days (which tends to be every day other than Tuesday, in terms of there being a high enough call rate to effect things as opposed to actual volume of mail) as is. Sometimes I don't completely finish off (taking packets back) till after 2 (am contracted to 1.50). Maybe on light Tuesdays there's a possibility of absorption but no other day. Problem is I'm on a 600 house walk whereas no-one else in the office has that many. Walk next to me is 370 houses. Doesn't matter whether it's light or not, doing 370 houses is always going to have significantly less mail. The thing is, that walk has more terraces than mine as well.

Takes the piss (that's my new motto, btw).

I usually dont take any regs , but the usual driver + van were out of action, 4 were for same house. i did not know about the max 8 thing (so thanks for that)

as for the car. We used the car to drop all the bags off and drop me and another postie at our starting points

heavy day today wont do the overtime so left mail allways nice to see a manger beg you to take everything and to go dont need the money that bad you take it

Managers have more to lose by banging on about these changes and new ways of working. Do you honestly think that DHL or TNT etc. will employ RM managers when privatised? Oh no, they'll want rid of them all and bring in their own 'YES MEN'!
They won't want peole who did things 'The Royal Mail way'. New company, new start = new staff on a lot less money too.
So may be we should look after our bosses? Better the devil you know? :cfo

Easiest day of the week today...look out saturday!!
Also saw my D2D list for next week...only 3 but total weight 95Kg!!!

i have 600+ calls...others only have 3/4/500 but all still get the same prep time(none) very fair.

Done in about 3 hrs 45 mins. Loads of flats and DSA. Lucky for me I didn't have too many packets to knock for. Now now till a week on Wednesday. Out to the pub tonight. Off to Tenerife on Tuesday!

Got soaked today

started pissing down about 10.30 and kept going until I was finished 3 1/2 hours later (I did my best impression of drowned rat)

Plus the mail was heavy again, wtf is up with all the flats at the minute....................oh wait, it's the end of the month and it's always the same
